“Don’t forget Mr. Triple Double” NBA Fans react to Russell Westbrook’s unreal record passing franchises individually
Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook is really being hated senselessly these days and fans are forgetting how great he is. It’s fair to say that the system he was a part of under Frank Vogel at Lakers didn’t do justice to the talent and potential he holds. His numbers came down and oftentimes he wasn’t the same guy we know from OKC, Houston and Wizards’ days. But that doesn’t mean Russell Westbrook has lost it all. He still is one of the greatest point guards in league’s history and also the best rebounder at his size but today he’s just getting disrespected and trolled for things he isn’t completely at fault for.
Russell Westbrook was scapegoated throughout the season by the franchise for their losses. Knowing very well that he isn’t the right guy to blame and it’s not just his fault for the early wrap-up last season where the team didn’t even make it to the play-in tournament. It’s already shocking that he has made so far in the offseason as a Laker. Since the Jeanie Buss-owned franchise’s front office always had him placed on the trade block but was unsuccessful due to his max contract. Russell Westbrook has secured the bag as he exercised his $47.1 million player option to return to the Lakers for the 2022-23 season. But he’s still on the block and will be shipped across as soon as the front office gets a satisfying deal.
With all of these happening fans are forgetting how great Russell Westbrook really is. They have also forgotten his tag of “Mr. Triple Double” and have replaced it with “Westbrick”. But none of that can lower or bring him down as his records are high up listed under his name. He is the all-time leader for Triple-Doubles in the league and there is no one better than him at that particular job. So the Lakers parting ways with him means, they are giving up one of the best scorers, playmakers and rebounders in the league. When he wasn’t also given a fair opportunity to prove himself. One of his records which was recently posted by StatMuse may help them change their mind. As Brodie is really the guy they need.
