“They have a standard, they have a culture” NBA Insider reasons out why Miami Heat is the best destination for Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant vs the Heat in 2022

Just three seasons ago, the Brooklyn Nets acquired Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Many thought that this indicated that the Nets will continue to be a title contender for many years to come. Additionally, the franchise’s supporters finally dreamed that their team is taking home an NBA Championship. During the Kyrie opt-in controversy, the league prepared for Kevin Durant to possibly request a trade. Phoenix and Miami were frequently considered as the All-rumored Star’s top destinations.

Since Kevin Durant reportedly asked for a trade, the NBA has made reasonable predictions as to where the forward would end up. Joy Taylor of “The Herd” thinks KD will fit in best with the Miami Heat and claims she would be “insufferable” if it happened. Kyrie Irving is most likely to depart as well, with Durant virtually ready to depart. Although Irving exercised his player option for the 2022–2023 season, KD has still decided to leave.

Kevin Durant’s desolate career with the Brooklyn Nets.

Although Kevin Durant is without a doubt the greatest thing to ever happen to the Nets, he has had enough. He has definitely seen that the franchise is not serious about winning  during the past three years and wants to leave immediately. In addition to being a 12-time All-Star, Durant has won two NBA championships, three Olympic gold medals, four scoring titles, and two NBA titles with Golden State, his last team before joining Brooklyn. He has four years and roughly $200 million left on his deal, so getting him may need a large haul of players, draft selections, or maybe both.

Without including the season he missed while rehabbing from a damaged Achilles tendon, Durant has played in 14 seasons. In his career, he has scored 27.2 points on average. Durant, who will turn 34 on September 29, is still among the greatest players in the league, and his 6-foot-10 stature makes it nearly impossible for any defender to stop his jump shot. He played in 55 games last season, averaging 29.9 points despite missing a large number of them due to injury. KD at Brooklyn is dealing with all sorts of problems like Kyrie sitting out half of the season, Harden getting traded and a first round exit from the playoffs.

NBA Insider Joy Taylor on the possible destinations of KD trade.

Joy Taylor listed her top five potential KD landing sites on “The Herd” with Colin Cowherd. Miami is her #1 pick, despite the fact that she listed teams with a strong probability of trading for KD. “Knowing me, obviously, the Heat is the No.1 destination for me for Kevin Durant. Obviously, I’d love to see Kevin Durant go to the Miami Heat because I’m selfish, and I would be insufferable if this happens.”

Durant wants to stay on a championship group after winning two championships with the Golden State Warriors. This season’s top seeds in the Eastern and Western Conferences, the Heat and Suns, respectively, fell just short of winning the title. In the conference finals, the Heat fell to the Boston Celtics in seven games, while the Mavs defeated the Suns. Therefore, this offseason is going to be one for the ages since Durant’s future destination is undecided.
