“They are re-uniting” NBA Twitter hyped as Lakers show signs of teamwork in preseason loss to Suns
The Los Angeles Lakers may have turned over a new leaf in hopes of retracing their steps. Last season was mostly an upset on their side despite efforts being made to win while players were plagued by injuries and the team lacked leadership.
The Los Angeles Lakers showed a lot of promise during their first preseason game against the former top seed in the league, the Phoenix Suns. The team was able to maintain a good lead throughout the game but the Suns were able to finish strong.
LeBron James once again led the team with his offensive prowess. He finished with 23 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. Kendrick Nunn who was absent for most of last season score 21 points in 19 minutes. Russell Westbrook had 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Russell Westbrook says Lakers need to take “baby steps”
Russell Westbrook was the biggest blame dumpster last season and took a lot of criticism from experts that followed the Lakers. In a post-game interview, he said, “Obviously you wanna win but you wanna take baby steps. Its a long year and we needs take some positives out of the game.”
The 9x time All-Star won the opening bucket of the game and helped the Lakers keep a settled scored above the Suns. He shot 100% from the three-point range as well. LeBron is someone the NBA has to be concerned about as he is still able to play at a high level.
In comparison to their previous game, Bron believes the team was exactly where they had to be offensively and defensively. Head Coach Darvin Ham also claims that there was, “Great improvement from game 1 to game 2… I thought it went well… I’m very pleased but I told my team we don’t want to get accustomed to losing.”
