Nick Wright is not a fan of the Draymond Green show, and no one would blame him for that. Warriors star forward used his show to fire back at the critics and analysts doubting the 2022 Golden State Warriors, including Nick Wright. Draymond Green, who is the face of the ’new media’ has come under fire this time for his hot take on prime Carmelo Anthony being a better shooter than prime Kevin Durant. Draymond’s preference for Melo over his former teammate was a shock for many, including Nick Wright.
On Fox’s “First Things First,” analyst Nick Wright took a chance to mock Draymond Green for the same. He pointed out the hypocrisy behind Draymond’s statements. Nick said, “To be fair to Draymond, maybe Melo in his 16 minutes of game for the Lakers changed his opinion of him. Or maybe new media is falling into so many of the pitfalls old media deals with. I’m not here to say Draymond Green (the face of new media) can’t keep his takes together, because he doesn’t necessarily believe what he’s saying.”
Making fun of Draymond Green, the 37-year-old analyst said, “He’s just trying to create content. What I’m saying is – actually, that’s exactly what I’m saying. What I’m saying is, Draymond has become what he most despises. The inauthentic, inconsistent taker, just giving takes for the sake of takes. I’ve heard him call Kevin Durant the greatest scorer ever, and now he says he’s not as good as Carmelo.”
It was a difficult pill to swallow for the bulk of the NBA community as Golden State Warriors forward chose Melo over KD. Wright even said the four-time NBA champion is becoming what he despises with his inauthentic and inconsistent takes.

Reigning NBA Champion Draymond Green hosted his famous “The Draymond Green show” podcast in November 2021. But due to his outspoken nature and hot takes, the show quickly became a fan favorite, and many even considered his views and show more valuable than “age-old debates”. On his podcast, “The Draymond Green Show,” made a hot take that has caused a social media frenzy. While few seem to support his take, many strongly disagree with the four-time NBA Champion.
The 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year Draymond Green was asked by the producer who he thought was the better shooter between Carmelo Anthony in his prime and Kevin Durant in his prime. Being a defensive player, Green would have the best knowledge about the scoring prowess of both the stars. Though he didn’t play against Prime Melo, he certainly had played against and with KD in his career.
But he went into detail as to why he thought it was Anthony, recalling an encounter he had with the LA Lakers forward. “Wow! I’m going to go with Melo,” Green responded. “But that’s a pickle for real. Can you go wrong with either one? I don’t think so.”
Green accepts the fact that both the stars have very few limitations offensively and his selection would raise many questions. Nick Wright, disagreeing with Draymond’s selection giving huge thumbs up to KD thrashes Draymond and his show. Players in the discussion have not given any reaction to either of the comments, while opinionated Draymond Green also has yet to respond to any of the reactions.
