“Why hunt for Donovan Mitchell when KD is available?” Nick Wright proposes New York Knicks to peruse trade for Kevin Durant
Kevin Durant has never been is a situation any more frustrating than the one he is currently trying to distance himself from. For a very long time he has been known as the bad guy of the league even though his intentions were to be a leader rather than being hated. Ever since the fallout with 5he Golden State Warrioes took place, it has been tough for the player in terms of success.
Despite having one of his best season averaging 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game. The Brooklyn Nets tried there best to stay afloat in the presence of the legendary scorer but their lack of chemistry would be the end of their playoff hopes. Durant for one has been trying to win a title ever since his departure from Dub nation and is currently in search of a reliable team.
Kevin Durant’s trade request have been put to a standstill
Kevin Durant almost instantly requested for a trade from the Nets after his teammate, Kyrie Irving had agreed to run it back with the team for one more year. It does not seem like the latter is interested in risking another year with the point guard as his time is slowly running out. KD is currently under contract with them until the 2025-26 season and his value stands really high which many teams are not able to meet.
So far there have a handful of teams that have tried to offer trade packages but they somehow would not match his value. The Miami Heat has been a main target for him as it could immediately win them a title with Jimmy Butler and the defensive powerhouse of a roster. The other scenario also involved the Boston Celtics trading Jaylen Brown along with the reigning defensive player of the year and future first round picks. Nothing has been confirmed yet, but packages are slowly developing everyday.
Nick Wright believes Kevin Durant could fit in well with the New York Knicks
On the First Things First show, Nick Wright proposed several trade scenarios of his own which included the Warrors, Celtics and surprisingly the New York Knicks. The Knicks have been actively trying to pursue All-Star Donovan Mitchell to pair with their starting five. Mitchell averaged 25.9 points last season but has not been able to come level with the Utah Jazz.
“Why go Donovan Mitchell hunting when you can go Kevin Durant hunting? Rich Kleimann’s dream come to life. You can keep your entire business empire set up where it is. What does that trade look like? RJ Barrett, my pal Quentin Grimes, Obi Toppin, Cam Reddish, Derrick Rose, and four first-round picks. The Jazz don’t want RJ Barrett, do the Nets want RJ Barrett? Maybe, possibly.” He also added on saying that it would not require either player to relocate as both home bases are in New York.
