I don't even know how I'm alive truthfully when I look back at it. I'm a true believer in God. He knows what your time is and it wasn't my time. Being on the court was the only thing that gave me peace.

Pierce was able to still compete for the C’s and when asked how he was able to remain in the city after everything that had transpired, he credited his friends and family for being his bedrock during that period. Showing his resilience, he played 82 games and averaged 25.3 PPG, 6.4 RPG, and 3.1 APG.

Paul Pierce believes Coach Doc Rivers is the right man for the Bucks

The Milwaukee Bucks didn’t see their season panning out this way when the season started and despite being third in the Eastern Conference with a record of 41-23 many believe that their underwhelming performance led to the sack of former team coach, Adrian Griffin and being replaced by Doc Rivers.

Paul Pierce believes that Doc Rivers is the best fit for the job despite criticism from fans considering that Doc Rivers was fired from his last role for having a disappointing time with the Philadelphia 76ers post-season. Pierce reaffirmed his support for Coach Rivers when he said:

Doc is a great motivator, man. He knows each individual and how to coach each individual. He coaches them all different. I think he's gonna bring some leadership and another voice, because when you look at Milwaukee, who's the vocal leader? I really don't know, I'm not in the locker room. Maybe it's Giannis, maybe it's Dame, but Doc is gonna be another vocal leader in the locker room.

However, it’s too early to say if the Bucks’ management made the right decision. Although the Bucks have improved, their performance post-season will determine if it was worth it.
