The Toronto Raptors defeated the Portland Trail Blazers 117-105 on Sunday to end a three-game losing run, with Pascal Siakam scoring 27 points and Scottie Barnes contributing 22. The Raptors ended a five-game losing streak over Portland. Damian Lillard scored 34 points in the losing cause, as it wasn’t enough to bring the win home to Portland.
Lillard was hot from the three-point line, however, he had a bit of an early struggle in scoring. He made 11 of 23 shots from the field in the game. He also made 3 of 7 shots from beyond the arc. Despite five of the Blazers’ players scoring in double digits, Lillard couldn’t lift them past the Raptors.
Dame has only played 10 games the season and has been mostly unavailable due to injury. He was sidelined for hamstring tightness for the most part this season so far. Anfernee Simons has been the bucket-getter for the Blazers in Lillard’s absence. So far into the season, Lillard has been averaging 27.3 points and 7.2 assists in the games. However, he has been shooting only 43 percent from the field and 36 percent from the three-point line.
All the starters had points in double digits. Anfernee Simons scored 22 points, Josh Hart scored 18, and Jusuf Nurkic had 14 points and 18 rebounds. Portland has dropped seven of nine games and three in a row. All five Portland starters scored in double figures, led by Jerami Grant’s 14 points, but the Blazers’ bench only contributed three points.

Pascal Siakam and Co. snap their losing streak against Damian Lillard’s Blazers
The Toronto Raptors defeated the Blazers for a team win. Pascal Siakam scored team-high 27 points. He made 8 of 19 shots from the field and 2 of 4 shots from the 3-point line. Scottie Barnes also came big in their much-needed win as he scored 22 points behind Siakam. Thanks to 19 points from Gary Trent Jr., 14 points from each of Fred VanVleet and O.G. Anunoby, and a win over his former team.
The Blazers were 0-3 on their three-game trip to Minnesota, Indiana, and Toronto. However, they are heading home to play 10 of their next 11 games, where they have a 9-6 record. After the game, the Blazers coach Chauncey Billups spoke to the media and said his team did not take care of the ball and that cost them the game. “For us to win this game, we had to take care of the ball and take good shots,” Billups said. “Twenty-nine points is just too much,” he added.
