Patrick Beverley‘s recent comments about hounding Austin Reaves has been making news. The issue stems from Reaves trolling Beverley with the “Too small” troll in last year’s regular season game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Chicago Bulls.

Speaking on the Come And Talk 2 Me podcast, host Treasure Wilson asked rappers Cam’ron and Mase on their take about the comments Beverley made “I’m gonna be on his a*s”. Mase, confused about the quote, asked if Beverley meant he will play more defense on Reaves than ever before? Or that he meant he will take more charges or flops etc. Mase said when normally someone says a line like that, it generally means they will put up 30-40 points.

He then turned to Cam’ron for comment. Cam’ron just trolled the actions of Patrick Beverley as to what he might do. Both rappers were dumbfounded to the level of trash talk Patrick Beverley is resorting to. They know Beverley is no longer a coveted player. So only antics will work for him.

What does he mean when he say that? What does he mean, he's gonna play more defense than ever before? ‘I’m getting more charges than ever before’?

Beverley has never put up more than 26 points in a game in his career. And that was back in the 2017 season for the Houston Rockets. So Mase knows Beverley will not put up those numbers again.

On top of all that, Austin Reaves is not a bad player. He was instrumental for the Los Angeles Lakers in their run-up towards last year’s Eastern Conference Finals. Mase and Cam’ron know Reaves will not make Beverley’s job easier.

Is antics all that Patrick Beverley has?

Playing in his 12th season in the NBA, Patrick Beverley has seen a steady decline in his production per game. He is currently averaging 3.3 points, 2.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game this season with the Philadelphia 76ers. Those numbers are a far cry from any player providing valuable contributions to his team.

Beverley has a reputation of resorting to antics and aggression both on and off the court to keep his place in the NBA world. Especially since his production has dwindled. Fans and analysts have been repeatedly calling out the point guard for these pointless bytes year after year.

Maybe what Cam’ron and Mase meant is for Beverley to stop his antics and focus on the game if wants to continue playing for longer.
