Richard Jefferson is back in the NBA headlines and the reason is a fiery take from his end. Recently, he went all out on the Lakers’ front office and their General Manager Rob Pelinka for ruining his former teammate, LeBron James’ time with them. The Los Angeles Lakers are nothing but disappointing and Richard Jefferson has revealed a major reason behind it and that’s the team they have put next to LeBron James.
The Los Angeles Lakers recently fell short against the Los Angeles Clippers and now maintain a losing record of 2-9. Even though the stars are getting in some good numbers and doing their job in the best possible way, the Lakers are just horrible. And, now they have lost four straight games so Richard Jefferson firing a shot against them isn’t wrong at all.
Richard Jefferson sounded very off on how poorly Rob Pelinka and the Lakers’ front office have constructed the team around LeBron James. On the show, “NBA Today,” he quoted: “My biggest issue now is that we know that here’s no shooting, there was no shooting a year ago, there was no shooting a season ago. And now here, the fact that they didn’t make the post-season, so they had… think about this people, they had between April to October and this is the team that was put together.”
Richard Jefferson also took a shot at Rob Pelinka’s recent contract extension and while doing so he said: “And, then (Rob Pelinka) was given an extension. I’m sorry, that’s malpractice, you can’t do that.” Further, the analyst also added: “And I’m not talking about LeBron, let’s take him out. To the Lakers organization, one of the greatest sports organizations that we have seen on the planet.”
Richard Jefferson didn’t just stop there he went on to say: “So to me when I look at this and I just think like, gosh, there’s gotta be a lot of people in this organization right now they are like ‘what are we doing?’ I understand the picks, I understand this… But you don’t need to give LeBron an A+ team, he likes an A+ team, but if you give him a B+ team, he will do A+ things with them.”
It all started with Richard Jefferson discussing Rob Pelinka’s and LeBron James’ extension with the Los Angeles Lakers. Also, the analyst believes the biggest mistake of King James’ career is to sign an extension with the Hollywood-based franchise.

Richard Jefferson is really disappointed with the team and very unhappy with the front office, especially Rob Pelinka for the job they have done this offseason. The team once again is poorly constructed and LeBron James looks helpless again. They brought in new faces but it just looks like a younger version of last season’s roster. So RJ isn’t wrong with his frustration.
Richard Jefferson has also pointed out the winning formula one uses with LeBron James on the team which is out for like two decades now. But the Lakers are doing the complete opposite of it. The team is down on rotational players, shooters and is low on chemistry too. Their defensive end isn’t that good and most of the time they just disappear in the second half. So it’s not just on the players but the front office too and they have to bring in some major changes or improvements as soon as possible. Or it will nothing but another wasted season.
