“I’m letting that one fan down,” Russell Westbrook speaks his heart out on his everyday motivation after joining the Clippers

Russell Westbrook said that he doesn't believe in sitting out and like to be available for his teammate and fans. Moreover, Anthony Davis is still confused how the Clippers are going to use Westbrook in their lineup.

If there is anything a team can trust Russell Westbrook with, he will show up for his team, no matter what. As the league is struggling with increasing cases of load management, the point guard said that he doesn’t take this game lightly. He said that he likes to be available for his team and the fans in the arena. After joining the Los Angeles Clippers, Westbrook was speaking to the media on the first day after the All-Star break. When a reporter asked if his availability was taken for granted by teams, he said that showing up has been instilled in him since his young days.

He said that as a player, he doesn’t know who is watching the game from the stands. For Brodie, there is always a chance that a kid has traveled a long distance just to see him. He also added that, on any given random night, he tries his best not to let a fan down. “When I was younger one of my OG’s told me, ‘You never know who’s watching.’ I always value like the one kid that drove 1,000 miles to come see me play this random night & if I don’t play, I feel like I’m letting that one fan down,” said the former MVP.

The Los Angeles Clippers recently signed the former Los Angeles Lakers player after a buyout from the Utah Jazz. As a result, the Clippers have assembled a potentially deadly trio of Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Kawhi Leonard.

Anthony Davis gives his take on Clippers acquiring Russell Westbrook

Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook’s relationship appears to be strained in light of the former teammates’ comments about Russ being dealt to the Clippers. After the Clippers waived John Wall, they acquired Westbrook in a buyout from the Utah Jazz. When his former teammate Anthony Davis was asked about Russ joining the Clippers, he said he didn’t know how the other team in LA is going to utilize Russ. “I know they got rid of John (Wall) and Reggie (Jackson), I’m not sure how [coach Tyronn Lue] will utilize him,” AD said.

When Davis was asked what kind of impact Russ would have in the Clippers’ locker room, he had a vague response. His take might suggest something fishy that isn’t out yet. “I’m not part of that team. I have no idea what their locker room is like, what their chemistry is like,” said the defensive stalwart.

It will be fascinating to see whether Westbrook has a chance at redemption. He’d want to be his best possible version alongside George and Leonard, and would want to propel the Clippers to the NBA silverware.
