The off-season trade rumors are getting intense as we are closing in on the training camps. Los Angeles Lakers are again active in the market by strongly making a push for their number one target Kyrie Irving. They are willing to add 1st round picks the Nets were hoping for, and also send Russell Westbrook to the Nets. Despite these recent trade rumors linking them with each other, Brooklyn Nets playmaker Kyrie Irving and Los Angeles Lakers guard Russell Westbrook don’t seem to have any ill feelings towards each other.

Irving and Westbrook were recently spotted putting in the work together in a lab. The two underwent the same training on going through the traffic and finishing. Both stars spotted together made a huge buzz around the league, although they did not exactly work directly together.

Of course, this is not surprising in the NBA. Players often work with similar trainers, and this situation with Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook appears to be the case. They are professionals in the first place.

How would the trade involving Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving help Los Angeles Lakers to make a strong push in 2023.

17-time world Champions have long been rumored to be interested in Irving and reuniting him with his former champion megastar teammate LeBron James. But the Nets were adamant over the future picks that Los Angeles Lakers were holding on to for a significant amount of time. But now the Purple and Gold looks certain to pull off the trade, indirectly moving Westbrook and his monster contract.

The talks for an Irving trade have cooled down in the past few weeks since the Nets were focused on trading Kevin Durant first and no other team showed interest in the 30-year-old guard. But now the Lakers having shown intentions to make Kyrie part of their big-3 would give the Nets a chance to clear some air around Kyrie.

As for the Lakers, the reunion of LeBron and Kyrie would be a huge boost. Both stars entering their final contracted seasons would want to make the most of their collaboration. Also, it would lure LeBron to sign an extension – maybe even take a pay cut to keep playing for them.

Adding Irving for Westbrook may give the Lakers serious chances of contending for their 18th NBA Championship. Kyrie might have had issues off the court, but on the court, he certainly is one of the best floor generals. Having an effective and efficient Kyrie around the 2020 championship pairing of Anthony Davis and LeBron James surely looks like an intriguing option for the Lakers.
