Scottie Pippen is widely revered for his time on the Chicago Bulls who won multiple championships and dominated the entire 90s era of the NBA. The Hall of Famer is known for his highly impressive defense and for occasional running the offense on an intense level. Pippen played alongside Michael Jordan who is arguably the greatest player of all time.
The player started off this career with the Bulls and helped form what is currently known as the greatest trio of all time. He averaged 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game during his seventeen-year career and shot an impressive 47.3% from the field for more than half of his time in the league. Lately, the player has been caught up in controversy sparked between himself and his former teammate MJ.

Scottie Pippen was one of the best defenders in the entire league during his time averaging a career with 2 steals and 0.8 blocks per game. He played very importantly besides Jordan in the Bulls’ three-peat and in the championships prior to the signing of Dennis Rodman. As it seemed, many would think that the players of the legendary team all had healthy relationships but Pippen would later reveal how toxic the environment was.
In a recent interview following the release of his book ‘Unguarded,’ the player would reveal why he thought he was never able to win a defensive player of the year award. “I think they were too busy watching Michael (Jordan),” said Pippen. MJ had won the award during Scottie’s rookie year in the league. Besides that, he became a 10-time scoring leader and made the all-defensive team nine times.

Michael Jordan as we know it has never had a strong relationship with any of his peers while he was dominating the league. One of the biggest reasons why might be the fact that he was always dominant and praised by everybody. During the peak of the pandemic, a documentary series called ‘The Last Dance’ was released on the championship-winning Bulls team.
Scottie Pippen would call out his former teammate for falsely portraying the stories that took place within the franchise at that time. He termed it as a publicity stunt pulled by Your Airness. The NBA legend also spoke about the greatest’s short stint in baseball. He said, “Yeah I was a big decision, but it was a selfish decision, but it was kind of who Michael Jordan was. That was a guy who believed he can do anything on his own.”
