Shaquille O’Neal
Shaquille O’Neal is one of the most popular NBA personalities. He was duly loved by fans for his eccentric lifestyle and for the popularity he brought to the game. This earned him lots of nicknames from his supporters and fan base such as Shaq Daddy, Shaq Fu, The Big Aristotle, and Superman, among others.
The one nickname of Shaq that stuck and resulted in a controversy with former Orlando Magic player Dwight Howard, Superman, the fictional superhero from DC Comics. As Superman was in the comics, bearing out of this world’s strength, Shaq was seen like that due to his commanding presence in the paint.

Nobody really knows the origin of the Superman tag attributed to Shaq, as most people believe that he got it as a result of his style of play. Shaq decided to clear the air as he used his platform on YouTube, “The Big Podcast with Shaq” to narrate the real origin of the famous nickname.
With him was present was NFL quarterback, Cam Newton, who is also called Superman. He saw the lead actor run faster than a train and also tried the same routine in real life which according to him worked, hence why he calls himself Superman.
In Jersey I live by the train yard. So, one day that train was coming, and I took off and then I probably was ahead of the train--That's why I like Superman--All cause of the train.Shaquille O’Neal
Shaq during his time in the league demonstrated superhuman abilities. He even was referred to as a literal ‘cheat code’ inside the paint, such that the NBA had to change its rules, and opposing teams invented “krypton crystal” to counter his strengths.
Shaq reveals players he believes would have a brilliant second half of the season
This season has seen young players shine and prove that the league is truly in safe hands. Players like Anthony Edwards, Paolo Banchero, and Tyrese Haliburton have really come of age this season, driving their team’s pursuit of championship glory.
Shaquille O’Neal was present for the latest episode of “The Big Podcast,” when co-host Adam Lefkoe asked Shaq Fu who between Ant, Hali, and Paolo is most likely to stand out during the postseason. His reply took all by surprise.
Being as professional as you are, I thought you were going to give me three. You only gave me two. I think Ant is close. He's right there. Tyrese, because nobody's really looking at him, he can hit that Star Trek button. He can hit that like we already got our eyes on Ant. We already know who you are. You're a mini superstar; we know who you are.Shaquille O’Neal
However, Shaq noticed one name was missing, Canadian star of the OKC Thunder, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. He equally praised him as well as Dallas Mavericks Luka Doncic. All five players are having an outstanding season and would want to secure the title and cement their name in folklore.
