“You lost $17Million refusing to get vaxed” Skip Bayless calls out Kyrie Irving for double standards after reports of joining the Lakers
Skip Bayless on Kyrie Irving joining LeBron James at LA Lakers
Los Angeles Lakers could be in the leading position to land Kyrie Irving at a cut-price considering his relations with their marquee star LeBron James. But Skip Bayless targets Nets star for his “double standards” if in turn the star point-guard decides to once again join his 2016 Championship-winning partner.
Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving’s combination didn’t work well after a 3-season trials. Similarly, his time at the Celtics’ leading “young” team was not much enjoyable. But his collaborative work with LeBron James always proved very much fruitful back at Cleveland Cavaliers. They made 4 NBA Finals and even won the 2016 Championship beating Golden State Warriors’ strong team. With his time with the Brooklyn Nets looking all but done, many speculate that he will join LeBron James at Los Angeles Lakers. His performance with the team was never questionable, he averaged career-best 27 points with the team, adding 5 rebounds and 4 assists per game for the Nets. But it was his availability for the team that striped some issues.
Also, another reason is that the Nets not handing in a huge contract to the 30-year-old. You cannot blame the Nets for being skeptical, as Irvin has missed a huge chunk of games over the last three seasons. So, Irving leaving Nets looks imminent and the Lakers could be his favored destination – even with a pay cut.
Skip Bayless criticizes the decision as he sees a double standard game by Kyrie Irving
The idea of reuniting 1x NBA champion with his old pal LeBron James might have gone wrong with 70-years old sports analyst. As per some reports, Kyrie has made some advanced talks with LeBron personally to check the feasibility of joining the Lakers.
Lo s Angeles Lakers are looking desperate to add a Point guard to their roaster after Russell Westbrook’s experiment failed last season. If Kyrie is added for cheap, they can use Westbrook for up-gradation of other areas. But the reunion with James wouldn’t be an easy affair. As per Adrian Wojnarowski, the Nets guard will need to take a $30 million pay cut to join the Lakers, looking at the current commercial at the Hollywood franchise.
Skip Bayless reminds Kyrie of his decision of leaving Cleveland in the first place and thrashes the current scenario as double standards from the former rookie of the year. NBA analyst Skip Bayless has already labeled him a hypocrite. He said, “So would Kyrie take the Lakers’ $6 mil exception after demanding a 5-year, $250 mil extension from Nets??? Just to ‘right the wrong’ of falling apart w LeBron & demanding trade to Boston? Well, if you think the Earth is flat & you lost $17 mil refusing to get vaxed … WHO KNOWS?”
Also in this situation, Kyrie is eligible for a huge contract, might not be MAX, but he might be ready to take an enormous pay cut to join the Lakers. Lakers will be profit
Despite all the rumors, there is still a lot of uncertainty around Irving’s future, either with the Nets or any other team in the NBA.ble with the trade as Irving is still an elite guard, has Championship experience, have good relationship with Marquee star LeBron James and most importantly the point guard situation would be resolved on its own.
Whatever may the future holds for Kyrie Irving, whether he stays with Brooklyn Nets or goes to another franchise, it would be interesting to see how teams would consider using the star point guard in their roaster.
