“The energy is never the same in this guy” Skip Bayless turns villain No.1 in America as Rams’ Jalen Ramsey comes out to support Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook is one of the most remarkable point guards the league has had the privilege of calling their own. He is a former league MVP and helped lead the Oklahoma City Thunder through several playoff runs before being traded away. During his time at OKC he averaged a triple-double in three seasons between 2015-2018.
Unfortunately, his historic tenure with the organization would come to an end after being traded to the Houston Rockets to play alongside James Harden. The following season he was traded once again to the Washington Wizards where he averaged a triple-double again with 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 11.7 assists and shattered the all-time record in the same. The past season he signed a one-year contract with LeBron James and the LA Lakers.

Russell Westbrook did not have the ideal season with the LA Lakers
The Lakers had a very tough and unexpected 2021-22 season after being project to rise as the top team in the Western Conference. A lot of the blame was directed towards LeBron James for making a very hasty decision while choosing his teammates to play with. Many believed that he only picked Russell Westbrook because of his reputation and not to fill the roster requirements.
Russ on the other hand had a very bad season averaging 18.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game shooting 44.4% from the field. In situation when he was the only superstar on the court, he had problems helping the team close out game due to lack of athletic ability and very poor decision making. He also struggled terribly with turnovers. Anthony Davis was termed as a walking injury and Bron’s 30.0 points per game late season outburst was too late to help the team survive.
NFL’s Jalen Ramsey defends Lakers following Skip Bayless’ comments
Skip Bayless has been one of the Lakers’ harshest critics. It was mainly because of him that the famous nickname “Westbrick,” came into play. Bayless has often criticized Los Angeles for not recruiting enough shooters on the team as this is an aspect none of the main stars possess. After they select Max Christie of Michigan State in the second round of the NBA Draft, Skip took to Twitter saying,
“Lakers acquired 2nd-round pick, take Michigan State’s Max Christie, who shot only 32% from 3 last season. Perfect! He’ll fit right in with LeBron and Westbrick.” Russell Westbrook did not appreciate him using the nickname again replying to him saying, “Yoooo… watch you mouth. Don’t say anything here you wouldn’t say to my face.” NFL star Jalen Ramsey also came to defend Brodie retweeting to reply saying, “The energy is NEVER the same in person! EVER! Lol.”
