Stephen Curry threw a slight jab at NBA legend Charles Barkley in a recent interview. The Warriors guard omits the NBA on TNT host when he was given a question about whom to give his Championship rings to.
Curry is entering his 15th season in the NBA with an already stacked resume of 4 Championships under his belt. In contrast to the Splash brother’s immense success, Charles Barkley had never won a Championship ring and was able to make the NBA Finals only once despite boasting a Hall-Of-Fame career in the league.
The Chef appeared in a recent episode of Big Boy TV. Curry was asked which ringless NBA legend he would choose to share his 4 NBA Championship rings with. The question initially seemed to have taken Curry by surprise: “What a question. That’s a great question. I’ve never answered this question before,” Curry responded.
Without wasting a beat Curry jokingly omits the NBA on TNT host Charles Barkley, “It would not be Charles Barkley.” Curry then proceeded to pick two legendary guards for his answer, the Phoenix Suns MVP Steve Nash and Pacers sharpshooter Reggie Miller.
Curry said “Can I pick two people? I would pick Steve Nash and I would pick, ooh Reggie Miller.” He also commented on how long the list of ringless NBA legends is, “Absolutely, that list is pretty insane.”’
Curry’s comment on Barkley seems to be more of a light-hearted joke than a knock on the legend. The two are close friends outside the league, with the two also participating in the recent American Century Championship, a celebrity golf tournament.
Charles Barkley is not concerned about his RINGLESS basketball career

Barkley boasted one of the richest NBA resumes having made the All-Star game 11 times, the All-NBA team 11 times, and was the MVP for the 1992-93 season. However, the round mound of rebound lacks a vital accolade in his career achievements, a championship ring.
To be fair, Chuck never got a fair shot at a championship, while his closest attempt came in the 93′ season, the same he won his MVP. The Suns did take the Bulls to Game 6 but Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls were just too much for Barkley to handle alone.
Barkley attributed the Jordan-led Bulls for his failure complaining that he never played on a contending team. Chuck did play for Houston in the latter half of his career, but never came close to reaching the NBA Finals. “If I could’ve went to a real good team, I would’ve won the championship too,” Barkley commented.
Although Barkley remains ringless, he is still one of the best forwards to ever grace the hardwood, and the legend said that he is not bothered by it. “But man, I gave it all I had. I did the best that I could. And I sleep good at night about what I accomplished in sports.” Chuck’s legacy expands far more than just his NBA career, as he is now co-host with Shaquille O’Neal on the NBA on TNT show.
