Stephen A. Smith on Kevin Durant's decision to leave Warriors for Nets
On one hand where Kevin Durant, Nets saw themselves being thrown out of the 2022 playoffs by the hands of Boston Celtics. KD’s former team, Golden State Warriors are the favorties to progress into the NBA Finals. The former has been one of the firm believers of KD’s scoring prowess and off-court antics even when he represents New York Knicks’ city rivals, Nets. Being one of the greatest scorers of all-time, Smith feels Warriors current run could tarnish his legacy undoubtedly. What more did he suggest? Take a look below.
Did Kevin Durant commit a mistake by leaving Warriors for Nets?

On the most recent episode of First Take, Stephen A. Smith stated, “Yes, I believe that because of the selection Kevin Durant has made. It’s not that he left Golden State, it’s what he left the Golden State for.”
He added, “I got a lot of love and respect for Kevin Durant. He’s a 2-time NBA Champion, 2-time NBA Finals MVP. He’s surely one of the greatest players who have graced this game. And I love how Kevin Durant responds back at you rather than hanging out on somebody else. If he has an issue with you, he is man enough to address it. I respect the hell out of that and I personally very very fond of him.

“If the Golden State Warriors advance to the NBA Finals, it is unfortunate but people will remember KD as the dude who left Stephen Curry for Kyrie Irving.”

Having taken the lead in the WC Final series against Mavs, Warriors look destined to once again make a solid run for the NBA Championship. If they are to succeed without KD, there are no doubts in stating that so far Durant’s decision to part ways have proven fruitful on an individual level.
