“He could’ve been like I don’t give damn if I can come back, I’mma stand with them” Stephen A. Smith viciously fires shots at Kyrie Irving for ‘Martyr’ take for horrid Nets season
Stephen A. Smith and Kyrie Irving
Stephen A. Smith is the most straightforward and brutally honest analyst the television has seen and he has proved it many times as he isn’t afraid of anyone when he says what he wants to. Recently, he made it to the headlines as he criticized Kyrie Irving for calling himself a Martyr. Stephen A. Smith throughout the terrible stretch of Brooklyn Nets has been blaming Kyrie Irving and has never been riding his bus, to be honest as most of the time he ends on a critical note for the all-star guard. Recently, the tension between the two was increased as some shots were fired and indirect interactions were made and now with Uncle Drew referring to himself as a Martyr the analyst gets the last laugh as he gives out his views and opinions on it.
Kyrie Irving has been the most trolled and criticized player throughout the season. As he decided to stay firm on his decision of not getting vaccinated. Due to his decision of staying unvaccinated, he was ruled out from playing basketball in the league due to New York City’s vaccine mandate. But the Brooklyn Nets due to a losing record and injuries around other players decided to bring him back as a part-time player who will be allowed to play at away games as Barclays Center restricted him. But after some months the vaccine mandate was lifted up and he was back as a full-time player in action for the team and suited up with his mate Kevin Durant as James Harden left for the Philadelphia 76ers blaming Kyrie Irving and Steve Nash’s system. Recently appearing on “The ETCs with Kevin Durant” podcast Kyrie Irving framed himself as a Martyr for not being able to play which of course isn’t liked by many and Stephen A. Smith is one of them.
Kyrie Irving in the podcast quoted: “I was not expecting a mandate to be brought down in a way where it wasn’t going to let me play at all. I had the opportunity to play away games still but there was no plan in place, there was no vision of how it was going to work for our team. And I think that really impacted not just me, but a lot of people. Just had to sit in that hot seat for a little bit and deal with it. The life of a martyr, bro.” The internet is already unhappy with Uncle Drew for his take and now Stephen A. Smith has added to it with a very bold and strong take.

Stephen A. Smith on Kyrie Irving’s Martyr take
Stephen A. Smith straightaway attacked Kyrie Irving for his senseless take as many fans around and the analyst believes. He quoted: “He’s talking about a martyr, giving a voice to the voiceless, where you been speaking? There’s people still unemployed in New York for the mandate. If you really really wanted to make some noise, you would’ve said to hell with that, I don’t give a damn if I can come back, I’mma stand with them…This brother, he really is on another level … He’s in a stratosphere none of us are in.”
Stephen A. Smith is not wrong with the words he quoted and many fans also agree with him. He also criticized Kyrie Irving for having and living out a comfortable life which is totally opposite for many individuals in New York City till today who all were affected by the mandate. So him referring to himself as a Martyr has just got in nerves for many and Stephen A. Smith is the best one of them as he attacked him with a take backed up by reality and facts.
