The game-winning basket against the New York Knicks on the road with 0.4 seconds left in the game cemented DeMar DeRozan’s reputation as one of the NBA’s best clutch athletes on Friday. Quentin Grimes fouled him during the play, and while he missed the free throw, the Knicks were unable to get off a solid shot, and the Bulls won, leaving Madison Square Garden.

This season, the Bulls’ basketball performance hasn’t exactly been stellar. They had a good year last season, but have struggled for the majority of this one, and stars like DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine have heard their names mentioned in trade speculations. If things continue to go poorly, DeRozan may decide to leave Chicago, according to a rumor that recently surfaced. He appeared to reply to the accusations by implying that you shouldn’t always trust what you read with a scene from the film “Training Day.”

DeRozan averaged 25.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 50.8 percent from the field before Friday’s match. However, his three-point shooting percentage was only 29.5%. He has never been a very effective three-point shooter, but in his first season with the Bulls last year, he did hit a career-best 35.2 percent from beyond the arc.

The Bulls’ season record now stands at 14-18 thanks to DeRozan’s game-winning basket. Because of his clutch play a lot of the fans were in awe of him and spammed Twitter with great comments. A fan wrote, “DeMarvelous”. One remarked, “Don’t sleep on derozan especially if he shooting a mid range”. Following are some reactions by the fans on Twitter:

Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan’s on-court rapport is apparently creating problems for the Bulls

This season, the Bulls have a -3.6 net rating when Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan are on the court together. This is two points per 100 worse than the franchise average. When playing together, they like to take turns playing near to one another rather than off of one another.

Although the athletes get along well and this isn’t personal, Chicago’s coaching staff and management are aware of the issue, yet meetings and chats with them are ineffective. According to franchise and league officials, the Bulls have conducted many team meetings to attempt and resolve their problems, including one-on-one, face-to-face sessions between DeRozan and LaVine.

Many franchises are keeping an eye on the Bulls to see what they choose to do at the end of the transfer window, if they decide to make changes to this failing squad, and, if so, how severe the cuts will be. The consensus among league players is that Nikola Vucevic will be accessible at the appropriate price, but DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine are unlikely to be.
