The city of Denver finally has their first-ever NBA Championship parade in downtown Denver Nuggets as the Nuggets team and coaches bask in glory following their historic playoffs run.

Mile High City was at their loudest as thousands of people attended the parade and the Finals MVP, Nikola Jokic also made a surprise appearance after he said he won’t be attending the parade at the post-game interview in the NBA Finals.

Nikola Jokic might have had a change of heart when he heard the roars of the city of Denver as the duo of him and Murray rode around the city in a Swat Tank and delivered an All-Time speech at the parade ceremony where we were treated with a very rare ‘F bombs’ from the Joker who looked completely smashed with booze.

Jokic at the Championship parade: “You know that I told that I don’t want to stay on parade, but I f–king want to stay on parade. This is the best.”

During the parade, the Denver Nuggets also threw shades at the Lakers and Coach Malone gave a warning to the rest of the NBA saying that they are going for more Championships.

The Denver Nuggets are NBA champions after closing out the Miami Heat in Game 5 Monday night in the 94-89 victory. Led by Nikola Jokic’s 28 points (12-16 FG), 16 rebounds, and 4 assists, the Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat in Game 5, 94-89. Michael Porter Jr. (16 points, 13 rebounds) and Jamal Murray (14 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists) added a combined 30 points for the Nuggets in the victory, while Jimmy Butler tallied 21 points for the Heat. After closing out this best-of-seven series, 4-1.

With the Nuggets having clinched their franchise’s first NBA title, they have one of the best chances at taking the Larry O’Brien trophy next season as they ranked first by bettors to be the favourites to repeat. As currently constructed, the Nuggets are fuelled with the core of Jokic, Jamal Murray, Aaron Gordon and Michael Porter jr. followed by key veterans and a surprising outbreak player in their rookie Christian Braun.

The Nuggets however will have to make key decisions regarding their role players this summer as they are over the salary cap and may only sign outside players using any available exceptions or at league minimum salaries. This comes at the price of keeping their expensive core intact and will restrict the team from signing new players. The departure of Bruce Brown is also due as the team can offer him only below $8 million per year.

With the Western Conference looking to get stronger with upcoming trade and the Boston Celtics looking to make a move in the East, it will be interesting to see how the Joker and Nuggets respond to the rest of the league.
