With Patrick Beverley being traded to the Lakers, things may heat up in Los Angeles as longtime rival and adversary Russell Westbrook is already there. The two in the past have admitted disdain over each other and with them being on the same court, one is left to wonder what might transpire between the two.

The trade saw Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson packing their bags for Utah in exchange for Beverley coming to LA. With Russell Westbrook’s spot on the Lakers still very unsure things are heating up. For the past decade, Westbrook and Beverley have been fierce competitors neither being friends nor respectful towards each other. Westbrook has made it clear that he dislikes Beverley as a player and Beverley did the same thing with Westbrook.
Many people were quick to offer judgement on the situation that the trade brought as Dan Woike, LA Times Writer had a hilarious take on the whole situation, “It’s gonna make for a fun employee orientation day, I think. The icebreaker game? I think it’s gonna be really, really awkward around that table.” Woike wasn’t the only one with smart comments as Skip Bayless chimed in on the whole orchestra with, “ “PatBev to the Lakers? The bad blood between him and Westbrook dates back a decade. And now he’ll take some of Westbrook’s minutes? This is better than WWE. It’s now “SideShowtime.”
Tension On The Lakers

Russell Westbrook had a disappointing showing last season. With many believing that he will get traded as he has just not be an asset to the team, while some like Kendrick Perkins believe Westbrook will be better and the two could work together, most do not share the same view. Many people have commented on how the trade for Beverley has been insulting to Brodie whose feud with Beverley has been public. While if the two somehow manage to work things out could be a dangerous backcourt, many believe it to be highly unlikely, making the chances of a trade more probable.
With Beverley added to the Lakers roster, they have grown potentially in terms of defence and while on paper it seems like a good trade but Beverley’s past actions in the league especially with Laker nation have people second guessing the whole trade. While the veteran has an intimidating attitude the guard is a baller and would probably be willing to set aside the tension for a shot at a championship.
