Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Lamar

It’s pleasing to witness Russell Westbrook rejuvenating during the LA Lakers’ drama-filled summer. Nina Westbrook, Russell’s wife, shared a video of her husband dancing during a Kendrick Lamar event in Los Angeles. Russell Westbrook appeared to be singing along to “Count Me Out,” a song from the artist’s current album, “Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers.”

Going to a Kendrick Lamar concert is a wonderful experience since he is a prominent musician who creates amazing songs. There has been constant speculation that he may be dealt, and with the arrivals of Dennis Schroder and Patrick Beverley, the Los Angeles Lakers are suddenly as deep as they can be at the guard positions. Darvin Ham might utilise him off the bench if he doesn’t perform well. There are situations when trade rumours have a detrimental impact on athletes. However, it appears that none of the trade rumours or conjecture are troubling Russell Westbrook at the moment.

Westbrook struggled with the Los Angeles Lakers last season. Russell Westbrook was routinely chastised for controlling the ball and being inefficient as a third option, while putting up good box score figures of 18.5 PPG, 7.4 RPG, and 7.1 APG. There have been several reports that the Los Angeles Lakers will trade Russell Westbrook before the season begins. The Pacers, Spurs, and Jazz were seen to be “obvious” landing destinations for the point guard.

After last year’s dismal season, Lakers fans have run out of patience with Westbrook. He struggled to fit in with LeBron James and Anthony Davis, and he also turned the ball over at an alarming rate. Russ couldn’t even hit a triple to save his life. However, there is some hope that 2022-23 will be a different tale. Ham has already stated his intention to do everything possible to get the most out of Westbrook, a potential Hall of Famer. There’s no doubting the player he’s developed into over the years.

Russell Westbrook, no matter what role he ends up playing, should have a solid season next year. Westbrook is a great player who can slice to the rim and make plays for teammates, and he may improve his efficiency playing against other bench groups next season. However, it is undeniable that Russell Westbrook still possesses the potential and ability to be a starting-level point guard. Perhaps we’ll see the point guard start and demonstrate that his relationship with LeBron James and Anthony Davis can still work.
