WATCH: Tyler Herro calls game drilling an INSANE game-winning buzzer-beating three-pointer to send Heat past Jazz

Hyler Herro hit the buzzer-beater

Tyler Herro drilled a wild, running one-legged 3-point buzzer-beater to give Miami Heat a much-needed road win against the Utah Jazz. With the expiration of the clock in the 4th quarter, the Heat defeated the Jazz 126-123. After Jazz erased a 7-point deficit, Herro’s dagger brought yet another heartbreak to the Jazz fans.

Markkanen made his 3 free throws to even the game, with 6.3 seconds remaining on the clock before Herro received the ball from out of bounds. Right from the paint area, Herro was being defended by Jordan Clarkson. He made two crossover moves and took 7 dribbles before he drilled a one-legged 3-pointer over three Jazz players.

It’s no breaking news that Herro has a clutch gene in him. He has been one of the Heat’s most reliable players in the Heat’s end minutes against opponents. Earlier, in November, Herro helped Heat defeat the loaded Sacramento Kings. With over 1 second left on the clock in the 4th quarter, he hit a 3-pointer to give them a 3 points lead.

Miami Heat’s coach Erik Spoelstra had some good words for Herro. Spoelstra acknowledged that he trusts Tyler because he likes to be challenged in those moments when the stakes are high. “You want the ball in his hands because you know he wants those moments,” Heat coach Spoelstra said. Starting the season on a strong note, it was Jazz’s 4th straight loss.

The Miami Heat registered a team effort win against the Utah Jazz on Saturday. In the absence of their star player Jimmy Butler, Miami came together with massive effort and a bit of luck to win their 3rd game in 4 matches. Despite a 7 points lead in the last few minutes, the Heat were on the verge of overtime before Tyler Herro hit the game-winner.

Bam Adebayo scored game-high 32 points while Herro finished with 29 points, nine rebounds, and six assists for Miami. Bam made 11 of 17 and Herro made 10 of 20  shots from the field. Victor Oladipo also came big in the game with 23 points, along with a valuable 13 points from Max Struss. Alluding to their team effort, after the game: “That’s what we need,” Adebayo said. “That’s what makes us a better team, when everybody is involved and flying around and making shots. The ball’s not sticking.”

The Jazz made 17 3-pointers and 36 free throws and had a 7 points lead after the end of the 3rd quarter. However, they lost their 4th straight game against the short-handed Heat. After draining their buzzer-beater to seal the game, Herro said that their win came because of their offensive and defensive stops against the Jazz. “The ball was flying around,” Herro said. “We were making plays for each other, getting stops defensively, and turning it into easy buckets on the other end.”
