Luka Doncic Parents: Know all about Mirajm Poterbin and Sasa Doncic
Luka Doncic and parents
Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is grabbing headlines for his record-breaking plays. He recently set a record in the NBA for having scored 60 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists in a single game. Doncic had three 50-point performances in the past 5 games. He is the only NBA player to ever have 250 points, 50 rebounds, and 50 assists over the course of five games.
None of the greatness he has achieved at a such young age would’ve been possible without the constant support of his parents. His father Sasa Doncic is a basketball coach and a former player and is Slovenian of Serbian descent from Kosovo. His mother Mirajm Poterbin is Slovenian and a former model.
When he was nine years old, his parents divorced, and his mother was given custody of him. His mother used to be a model. She also participated in the 1993 Miss Slovenia pageant. Despite losing the contest, Mirajm was given the chance to host “Wheel of Fortune.” After a brief spell in the modelling industry, Mirajm worked with her mother to run a beauty parlor.
Mirajm Poterbin gave her son’s blossoming basketball career her time. Since he was a youngster and throughout his early career, she has managed his business off the court. She appears to be an entrepreneur and back in the modelling industry, based on her Instagram page.
His father Sasa Doncic won 2 Slovenian Premier A league and 3 Slovenian Cups and a Slovenian super cup in his 17-year career. He even played for the Slovenian National Basketball team as a teenager and then later in the senior team during FIBA EuroBasket Championship in 2005

Luka Doncic’s legal battle with his mother
The NBA star and his mother Mirajm were engaged in a legal battle after Mirajm didn’t let Luka to cancel his existing trademark over the new one. The Mavericks star planned to launch his brand of products and services in the US under the “77” trademark. However, the second trademark his mother had was still in use.
Doncic submitted a petition to revoke his mother’s trademark. Doncic asserted that the reason for his request to have the “7” mark’s registration cancelled is because, “upon information and belief,” his mother did not utilize the mark in the US. He said that she didn’t indicate that she intended to utilize the logo again. Doncic said that he was no longer connected to the brand.
However earlier this month it was reported that the legal drama had come to an end. While the legal battle has ended the terms of their settlement aren’t known at the moment. Sure his legal battle has ended but his fights on the basketball floor have just begun. The Mavericks cannot afford to pass up the opportunity to capitalize on a talent of this caliber.
