Zion Williamson continues to embarrass himself on the internet following his scandal with X-rated star Moriah Millis, who released a series of texts she got from the NBA star.
Williamson is trending for a different reason, this time with reports implying that he is on the trading block with the Pelicans looking to trade up in the NBA draft to acquire the projected No.3 pick, Scoot Henderson.
The Pelicans might look to move away from Zion after yet another injury-riddled season where he played a total of only 29 games due to a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old have a history of missing games due to injuries as he missed the entirety of the 2021-2022 season and missed a majority of his rookie campaign.
With the big 3 of CJ McCollum, Brandon Ingram and Zion estimated to combine for around $110 million in salary, things might be difficult for the team as the new CBA will be harsher on teams paying the luxury tax. As per reports from Shams Charania: “I’m told [The Pelicans] are going after Scoot Henderson… Do the Pelicans look hard internally of moving Zion Williamson?”
With the draft lottery right around the corner, it would not be surprising for the Pelicans to trade up in the draft to acquire the No.3 pick in exchange for Zion Williamson. A trade to get Zion also makes sense for the Blazers who is also shopping for a star to pair up with Damian Lillard.
The Blazers can be a CONTENDER after the OFF-SEASON
The Portland Trailblazers are dealt the best hands this off-season as they have massive trade capital where they can center a trade package around their 3rd overall pick with Anfernee Simons.
The Blazers are in a win-now mode in an attempt to capitalize on Dame’s small window left of his prime, trade rumours centering Dame have been shut down by Lillard himself and had confirmed that he won’t be leaving Portland this season. This left the team with the option of adding around Dame to build a Championship Squad and have the perfect assets to do so.
A trade with Boston to acquire Jaylen Brown is the most ideal for the Blazers, this can happen if Boston refuses to pay Brown. The trade can be centered around the No.3 pick along with Simons and one role player for Jaylen Brown, to spice things up the Blazers can also add Jusuf Nurkic to try and acquire Grant Williams and Payton Pritchard from the Celtics.
The Blazers can also go for Bull’s Guard Zach Lavine, this trade would not make them a contender, but they can pull this off with only the 3rd overall pick, Sharpe and a 2023 Knicks pick. The team have also other options like a trade offer to get Zion Williamson, which would make them a solid team if Zion can stay healthy. The team can also make extra moves without losing their 3rd pick like trading for Buddy Hield and Daniel Theis from the Pacers.
For the Blazers, the Jaylen Brown trade makes the most sense as they would automatically be a championship contender and the Blazers will surely move Scoot Henderson even if they decided to draft him in an attempt to win now.
