“No sense bumping your head against the wall” Shannon Sharpe condemns LeBron James for bringing Russell Westbrook to the LA Lakers

Though being one of the best franchise’s in the league the LA Lakers is sitting on the sixth position with 15-13 on the Western Conference standings. Having Russell Westbrook back this season the Lakers wanted to make a pair of 3 bests with Russell, Anthony Davis and LeBron James. But as the season is going fans are disappointed because they weren’t promised this kind of a downfall from the Lakers.

Though their degrading performance it is reported that the Lakers are exploring all the other changes regarding Westbrook’s performance including the late February trade for a better player.

According to the Fischer’s statement, “The trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook simply hasn’t blended as well as Lakers figures hoped, and Los Angeles has held internal discussions on trade scenarios for Russell Westbrook. But moving Westbrook and the two years, $91 million remaining on his contract does seem unlikely.”

Shannon Sharpe criticises LeBron James for bringing Russell Westbrook to the LA Lakers

Talking about the reports on the on-going internal discussions of trading Westbrook, Sharpe shared his views on LeBron James.  He says that LeBron is at his best when he’s with the shooters on the court because it gives him the space to thrive. But it is not going that well with the current Lakers as they don’t have a better shooter other than LeBron himself across the three point range.

Further with his argument he said “It’s not working, and there’s no sense in continuously bumping your head against the wall trying to make it work, you’ve seen enough. LeBron is going to have to own this mistake.”

When repeatedly asked about the same as how much percentage of the blame does LeBron hold for wanting and pushing for Russell Westbrook. Sharpe said that it is 100 per cent because he believes that it is nothing that comes in without LeBron James blessings. Further Sharpe said that LeBron has own this because they had the deal on the table during the Russell’s trade and LeBron can’t skip to that.  

It would be interesting to see how the trade goes with the Lakers franchise and how the Lakers deal with Russell Westbrook for the upcoming games.
