“Nobody Fears them” Robert Horry criticizes the Los Angeles Lakers after losing to Sacramento Kings in 3OT

The “Big shot Rob” who never lost a final, a 7x National Basketball Association’s champion and himself a Los Angeles Lakers legend, Robert Horry lashed out on Los Angeles Lakers squad lead by LeBron James after a 3OT defeat against Sacramento Kings.

After the game Robert Horry took on the Los Angeles Lakers at national television with former Lakers star James Worthy. Both the former stars were disappointed by the performance they spectated. The Lakers have had a not so good start this season and after losing to Sacramento Kings they are under .500 and currently ranking 8th in the Western conference with a record of 10-11. The team looked very good on paper while they traded the young core for veterans and signed them but now things are different. The team is struggling on both the sides of court from the defensive end to the offensive one.

Players lack effort in playmaking and have been caught off guard many time while defending. Shooting the ball has also been a issue for the team and one of the Big 3’s for Los Angeles Lakers Anthony Davis is ranking the least that is towards the bottom of the table in terms of efficiency and him missing the shots has affected the Lakers alot. The team being unhealthy and many key players not being available for the matchups was a problem in the start but now with a healthy squad and packed roaster the Los Angeles Lakers were supposed to win against the Sacramento Kings who was missing his three key players.

Robert Horry and James Worthy

James Worthy started the conversation by criticizing the ball movement and not playing team basketball to which he also added shooting stats for the team, LeBron James being 2-13, Anthony Davis 0-5 from the three point line. Worthy was also unhappy seeing them not using the other options and not putting the work in.

Robert Horry attacked the squad by pointing out towards their antics they have after one of them makes a shot and how that is not professional to him, he wanted to see the grit and grind rather than the smiles when the team was down or tied for most of the game. He quoted “I watch the game, and as soon as they get a lead, they start smiling and having all these antics not realizing the other team is watching you. And that’s fueling their fire. I know that’s what this game has turned into. Everybody wants to throw antics up when they make a 3-pointer, they’re so happy they finally make a shot, but to me, you laughing and smiling –that right there is not professional.”

Big shot Rob then also took a shot towards how the Lakers have been down since the start of the season by hooking it with facts that makes total sense like the Los Angeles Lakers have won only one game with 10+ points this season which was against the Houston Rockets.

He further added, “They’ve only won one game this year by 10 points, at Houston, and Houston is the worst team in the NBA. And you only beat them by 10 points. I don’t want to bring the past, but when we were with Shaq and Kobe, we wanted to beat you down and let you know that you were going to be in a fight and we didn’t fear you. You were going to fear us and you were gonna go home or be ready to go to the club because you weren’t gonna get a win up in here.” Relating the situation to early 2000’s he compared how different the Lakers are now and how much the mentality and work ethic has changed for the organization under Frank Vogel’s coaching.

Robert Horry made sense while stating this because this is what exactly is going on with the Los Angeles Lakers and resulted in a bad start. Robert Horry also talked about high time for Lakers to win games and know that urgency.
