Stephen Curry continues to face the shooting slump as he went 1-9 from the three-point range Wednesday night against the Dallas Mavericks. It didn’t bother much ever before but this time the Golden State Warriors had to suffer the loss too. The Mavericks defeated the Warriors 99-82.

Curry is at that rare point in the season where his three-point percentage has gone below 40%. Discounting his 2019-20 injury season, Curry has shot 40%+ from the three-point range in every season of his career. He is a career 43% shooter. This year, he is also averaging a career-high 13.4 attempted 3s per game.

What has got the fans worried is his form and rhythm. Curry has already had five games this season where he shot less than 25% from the field. Wednesday night was one of those games for Curry. He went 5-24 from the field and 1-9 from the three-point line, making him 20.8% from the field. In the last game against the Miami Heat, he went 3-17 from the field, which comes down to 17%

The Warriors fans are worried as though he is one of the front runners for the MVP race, his personal performance has not been up to the mark over the past two games. The fans are also worried that maybe the other teams have finally hacked the Curry problem.

Last season, Steph had just one game in which he shot less than 25%. In 2018-19 also, he had just one such game. He had two such games in each of the 2017-18 and 2016-17 seasons. In the seasons 2014-15 and 2015-16, he again had only one such game each. This makes it seven such games in Curry’s past five complete seasons. And just about halfway into this season, Curry has already had five of those.

Twitter reacts to Stephen Curry’s shooting slump
