Kendrick Perkins is a retired NBA player who now is a host at ESPN’s First Take and also a player analyst for the same company. Recently Perkins appeared on “All The Smoke” a podcast hosted by Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson. Kendrick along with the two hosts discussing the league gave away mid-season awards as the regular season has crossed the halfway mark and the big picture is good enough to be predicted but still, nothing can be said and assured since there are many games left.

In the hour-long talk of Kendrick Perkins, Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson they discussed MVP candidates this season, their top-5 starting line-ups, Nets-Lakers and also remembered the Legendary Kobe Bryant. Joel Embiid was the player who got talked a lot about during their MVP segment as lately the big guy has been godlike while stepping up every night with a 30 piece for the team. Last season Embiid finished second in MVP voting and continuing his domination is still a part of the ladder.

The Philadelphia 76ers currently have the best big man around the league as Joel this season averages 29 points, 10.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1 steal and 1.4 blocks per game. Under his leadership, the team is currently ranked as the 6th seed in the eastern conference with the record of 30 wins and 20 losses at .596 and looking good to have a mad run this postseason.

Currently, the 76ers aren’t on their full potential as the Ben Simmons saga continues without a solution being found or him getting traded away. Fans around the league criticize the Philadelphia 76ers for wasting Joel’s prime but Kendrick Perkins recently added a new story to it. At the podcast, while discussing Joel Embiid as a perfect candidate for the MVP award this season Perk hinted towards a Nets-76ers trade including James Harden and Ben Simmons.

Kendrick bringing Joel in the MVP conversation praised him by quoting: “Outside of KD and Kyrie I don’t know if anybody else is more skilled than him.” Both Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson agreed to it even they believe the same. But Barnes being on Embiid’s board criticizing the 76ers asked: “If you are Embiid right now having the season you are and you know that Daryl Morey and Elton Brand are sitting on Ben Simmons. Are you mad? Because you had an injury play career, you are playing the best basketball of your career and your GM and team is sitting on Ben Simmons…Do you go and have a conversation with the front office like can you trade this dude?”

Replying to it Kendrick Perkins gave a hint which resulted in the rumors being true as he quoted: “F*** that I am not mad. Let me tell you why. Because you don’t think that they didn’t had that conversation with Joel Embiid…Before the season he came out and said it ‘I can’t worry about Ben Simmons I gotta worry about win some game with the guys we got’. So some had to be said this is real life this is no rumors…Right now I don’t think Philly are gonna win a championship unless they make a big move. But I think they are thinking also about next season. So imma just give you hints so you figure it out. James Harden didn’t sign his contract extension and I know all this facts…So with who Embiid is he is a dawg and he wanna win.”

Perkins dropped a clear hint of James Harden wanting to move out of Brooklyn Nets as he quoted: “James Harden’s camp is telling people in Philly. He wanna come and play with Embiid next year.” The duo of Embiid and Harden will be the best two-man duo in the league as both have the potential to turn a game around at any given time. Harden didn’t sign his 3 years contract extension with the Nets and can also decline his player option this summer wanting to become an unrestricted free agent.

The trade rumors between the 76ers and Nets look quite real now as even the stars camp has started advertising the idea. While Ben Simmons stays firm on his decision to move out of Philadelphia. This season may not end on a good note for the Philadelphia 76ers but the next one will surely be full of madness as Ben Simmons would be shipped away in exchange for a star probably James Harden.
