Reports: Wizards’ Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell Pope ‘took swings’ at each other

It’s another day, another fistfight between NBA players, and this time it is Wizards’ Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell Pope fighting amongst themselves.

The Washington Wizards hosted the Oklahoma City Thunder at the Capital One Arena. This was an inter-conference match hosted by the capital city after the Wizards’ close victory against Magic on Sunday.

The Wizards are currently at 21-20 in the Eastern Conference ad thanks to their last victory against the City Thunders that they were able to break their neutralized scoreboard. The Wizards were able to contain the Thunders and handed them their 5th consecutive defeat.

The Thunders were never expected to do well but some of their performances have been quite a shocker for the people considering how their only win in the first 5 matches this season was against the LA Lakers and that was done in a very stylish way. But Tuesday’s loss brought along it their same and irreplaceable fate that they are doomed to experience this year.

The Washington Wizards may have won their face-off against the Oklahoma City Thunder but it wasn’t all gleeful for them.

According to Shams Charania of The Atlantic, two of Wizards’ veterans got into a heated scuffle during the half-time break.

As per the Sources, “Harrell became upset with Caldwell-Pope for not passing him the basketball on a play before the first half concluded, and the two started jawing during the walk to the locker room. As the two exchanged words, Harrell and Caldwell-Pope took swings toward each other — with neither connecting — and became entangled before teammates separated them.”

Both Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope are the new offseason additions to the Wizards roster and played a crucial part in obtaining the win over the Magic. Pope scored 16 points and Harrell scored 12 that greatly contributed to the Wizards’ final score. But when such pillars of the team fight then it kinda spreads an air of animosity on the team and it is not good for team bonding.

Wizards’ star player Bradley Beal is already out for a considerable time period as he entered NBA’s Health and Safety protocol for the 2nd time this season. The fans can only hope that the Wizards would get over it and would not heed any importance to such minor altercations that can ruin team chemistry.

It’s a team game and such fights happen and as long as they can be resolved within the team itself then it is fine.
