Russell Westbrook has been far from his best ever since he has stepped foot, dawning the purple and gold jersey. With the Lakers struggling heavily in the 2021-22 season, it seems like Brodie has had to face the most heat than any other player. Being deemed as the ‘Worst Trade in Franchise History’ by many, San Antonio Spurs All-Star and marquee scorer Dejounte Murray has come to support the former MVP amid serious hate campaign.

After LeBron James was left aside in the latest matchup against Spurs, Russell Westbrook was expected to lead the charge for the 2020 NBA Champions. Yet after fighting ever so hard, Lakers’ defensive vulnerabilities were on display again and it resulted in them suffering another loss. With hopes of their playoff contention, taking serious hit, at least Brodie has got one player to visibly show support towards him.

“Through All The BS And Disrespect On Russ Name ‘THEY’ Can Never Take Away His Greatness And Who He Is As A Person… The REAL Forever With You And NEVER Against You My Brother @russwest44 Believe That!!!” Murray wrote in his tweet.

Murray even shared an endearing video of himself talking to Westbrook after the Spurs took on the Lakers on Tuesday. While we cannot determine exactly what Murray said to Russell Westbrook, it would be safe to assume that it would be similar to what Dejounte’s message was in his tweet. The Spurs star understands what Westbrook is going through right now and he just wanted to make sure that Russ knew he wasn’t alone in all this.

That being said, it is nice to see stars coming out to finally support Russell Westbrook, especially after his wife Nina revealed how the family has been issued death threats by hoop fans. With just over 15 games remaining to end the regular season campaign for the Lakers, where will they finish? Remains to be seen, as next up for them awaits Houston Rockets.
