It is evident that if James Harden stayed in the Nets Kyrie Irving and James Harden could have simply made a ferocious backcourt for the Nets, in addition to Kevin Durant, it would seem like a team made in 2K. But things didn’t unfold as we would’ve expected, we are only left to wonder, what would have been if James Harden stayed.

James Harden got traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on deadline day, with this the Nets got Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and 2 first-round picks in the NBA draft. Now the big three team is now cut down to the big two. James Harden was upset with the team, with unfavorable circumstances coming their way, with Kevin Durant out with Injury and Kyrie Irving’s vaccination status makes him more like a part-time player, which really puts a dent on the Nets hopes for an NBA championship.

Brooklyn Nets lost to the Washington Wizards in a 112-113 scoreline, after the game Kyrie Irving gave his Postgame interview, “It’s not really my place in terms of trying to convince somebody of something that they probably can’t see right now. James probably couldn’t see what we were getting into.

James Harden who spends just 2 years with the Brooklyn Nets, played 80 games, in his first season with the Nets he averaged 23.4 points, 10.5 assists, and 8.2 rebounds. This season he played only 44 games for the Nets and his stats were almost like his first season with them, he averaged 22.5 points, 10.2 assists, and 8.0 rebounds. With him joining the Philadelphia 76ers, this is going to be the fourth team of his career.

Kyrie Irving after the game had kind words for James Harden, but it could have been kinder if James Harden had left the team under better circumstances, as it is rumored that part of his decision to leave the Nets was the unvaccinated status of Kyrie which jeopardized his chances for winning an NBA title. Kyrie Irving did, however, wish him well, “Now that it’s official, I think we can say our peace to James [Harden] and wish him well. Ultimately for me, I just want everybody to be happy and do things that they love to do and be a part of things they can see themselves being successful at – it probably wasn’t here with us. He made a choice. We respect him for it. No love lost.”
