Joel Embiid and Kendrick Perkins
Veteran NBA star Kendrick Perkins has recently opened up about his favorite star player who deserves the MVP award more than the Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic who is a reigning NBA MVP.
As the regular season is approaching its end the curiosity in fans is growing to know about the results of the most valuable player award this season where the three big men of the league Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid are leading the candidacy. The MVP result is still hazier and there is still no clarity of who’s winning the award but the thing which is catching more eyes is the playoffs positioning of their team which might play a key role in the selection of the winner.
According to the current MVP Ladder, the Nuggets center is leading the way where he is followed by Milwaukee Bucks star forward Giannis, and the Sixer star Joel Embiid who is placed third on the list. Although the 76ers center is in the 3rd spot sports analyst Kendrick Perkins believes that the 76ers star should be the MVP this year.

Kendrick Perkins reveals Joel Embiid as a better contender for the MVP and his personal pick of this NBA season
Perkins appeared on the recent episode of the First take where he talked about the struggle of Embiid in this season and how he managed the team by leading through his example where he was without Ben Simmons for more than half a season.
Kendrick Perkins said, “Jokic has been absolutely great, I can take nothing away from him but I’m still rolling with Joel Embiid and the fact of the matter is with the way that Ben Simmons did him in the Philadelphia not showing up to work basically quitting on him. “
He added, “Joel Embiid silenced all the noises and said you know what I’m done with the Ben Simmons topic it’s time for me to go to war with the guys I have in the Locker room and he did just that and in a great fashion to the point that he attracted another superstar James Harden who forced his way out of Brooklyn.”

Further, Perkins talked about Shaquille O’Neal who led the league with scoring in 1999 and won the MVP, and explained why the Sixers big man is following in the same footsteps.
KP said, “The Last center to lead the league in scoring and win the MVP was Shaquille O’Neal and he did it in 1999 when he averaged 29 points. Right now, guess who’s leading the league with scoring it might be Joel Embiid giving people a 30-piece wing all flats lemon pepper style and so when I see Joel Embiid and I see what he has done before the arrival of James Harden and now continued to do that with James Harden struggling.”
Kendrick Perkins concluded by saying, “I got go with him (Joel Embiid) the fact that he was the coat the runner up and then bounced back this season even in better fashion. I’m going with Joel Embiid as my MVP pick.”
