“There was nothing personal against Ben Simmons” Joel Embiid blames media for hyping ‘unnecessary’ beef with former teammate

NBA is known for its basketball, world-class athletes, celebrity and yes also controversies, and in this season the event which caught the most headlines was the Joel Embiids beef with his former teammate Ben Simmons. In the recent turn of events, the Sixers star center has claimed there was nothing between him and Simmons it was all totally created by the media.
Ben Simmons didn’t play a single game for the Sixers in this season and a lot of media reports suggest that he was unhappy with the management and was unnecessarily blamed for the last season’s playoffs loss. The feud between the Sixers team and ben Simmons grew rapidly until the franchisee decided to trade him to the Nets for the league’s best shooting guard James Harden.
The trade deal was called a win-win situation for both Nets and Sixers. Meanwhile, even Joel embiid stated that he no longer has to answer the question regarding the trade as the whole situation was pretty annoying for him.
Sixers star center Joel Embiid explains why he never had any grudges against Ben Simmons but it was media that ignited the controversy between them
Joel Embiid made his appearance on the latest episode of The Draymond Green Show where he explained how the media manipulated the whole scenario. In this whole situation, he never had any personal grudges against his former teammate Ben Simmons. When Draymond Green asked about the tension between Embiid and Simmons here is what the 5x All-Star said:
“I didn’t understand like what happened and you know what led on to that whole situation to this day… I don’t have any problems with them and you know like I said like obviously, we didn’t win a championship together but… like I always believed that you know we had a chance to win together. Him (Ben Simmons) to want to leave, uh I understand you know his explanation, uh but you know a lot of things don’t make sense”
“They’re always gonna try to pick up a little stuff just to make…. like controversy and all that stuff, you if you look at the whole press conference, they ask me a question you know what happened like what caused this loss and then I literally mentioned a bunch of events that happened I mentioned you know where it really started and you know I was being honest like we all are like me”
“We made a mistake I mentioned myself but you know the media has gone with the media they’re all there”

During this whole conversation with Warriors star forward, Embiid explained about his interaction with the media in which he talked about, how the difference between him and Simmons grew and what was the reason. But media for the controversy viewed the whole scenario from Simmons’ point of view which became a narrative that Embiid never wanted it to be.
Joel Embiid also added that there was nothing personal against his former teammate and instead he wanted that their partnership would have worked more.
