Warriors vs. Spurs at Alamodome with a crowd of 68,323 spectators

The NBA’s global presence has always been supported by fans. The 1980s national television audience boom and the emergence of live streaming in the 21st century both had a crucial role in the league and its players’ rise to prominence. However, going to a game in person is still the ultimate experience for large crowds of all ages to see the heights of athleticism, coordination, and competition.

With 68,323 spectators in attendance on Friday, the San Antonio Spurs shattered the NBA’s all-time largest crowd mark for a single regular-season game, setting a new benchmark in that area. The Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks broke the previous record for a single game in the Georgia Dome in 1998 with 62,046 spectators. The old Alamodome, which hosted memorable Spurs games from 1993 to 2002, was where the Spurs made their historical debut. The visiting Warriors’ record-breaking performance at San Antonio on Friday was supervised by Steve Kerr, a significant member of that 1998 Bulls squad. Here’s a look at some of the most memorable and well-attended games in league history.
