Twitter amused by the manner in which Hornets’ Miles Bridges taunts Russell Westbrook after ‘tough’ play

Mile Bridges' too small to Russell Westbrook
The Friday night showdown between the Lakers and the Hornets was an entertaining one. However, Miles Bridges and Russell Westbrook made it all the more entertaining with their antics in the game. Throughout the game, Westbrook and Bridges made sure to get under each others’ skins every chance they got.

The Los Angeles Lakers lost another game to an above .500 team in the Charlotte Hornets. Nonetheless, it was an impressive effort from the Lakers who were missing LeBron James (left knee soreness) and Anthony Davis (right wrist soreness). It was especially impressive from Russell Westbrook as he looked like a true leader trying to will out a victory out of the jaws of defeat. Westbrook and the Lakers fell short by three points as the Hornets beat the Lakers 117-114 in Charlotte.

Russell Westbrook and Miles Bridges taunt each other
The Westbrook-Bridges banter started during a play in the 4th quarter when the Hornets were leading the Lakers 105-100. During the game, Bridges pulled a tough layup even after being guarded by Russell Westbrook. After making the tough layup and-1, Bridges taunted Westbrook signaling that Westbrook was ‘too small’. Miles Bridges immediately got a technical for this gesture. A few moments later, the two were seen again talking at each other. This time, it was Westbrook who pulled out a taunt of his own, his signature ‘rock the baby’ gesture. Twitter had some hilarious reactions to this back-and-forth between them, some supporting Bridges and some Brodie:

Their contest continued till the end of the game. It was Westbrook who had had the responsibility of the last shot for the Lakers, who were then trailing by two points. Miles Bridges knew Westbrook would go for a win and not for the overtime, as it was the Lakers’ 2nd night of a back-to-back. Bridges did well to contest and Westbrook’s three did not fall.

However, it was not anything bitter between the two men as they are true competitors. They tried to take each other down but at the end of the day had to respect each other for the fight. Miles Bridges in a post-game interview when asked what made the game difficult for the Hornets to win, said – “Russell Westbrook. Gotta praise the man, been an MVP in this league, been to the finals, he is a great player. All the hate he gets, I don’t get it”
