The Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday night faced another loss which is neither a surprise nor an upset considering their poor show this season. The Los Angeles Lakers got beat by the Miami Heat 107-113 on road in Miami, for their 24th loss of the season, one more than the number of wins thus far. They sit at 8th place in the Western Conference.

LeBron James had 33 points in the game while Russell Westbrook had 24 points on a much improved 9-15 shooting from the field. Dwight Howard and Trevor Ariza had zero points, playing for 11 and 32 minutes respectively. Avery Bradley scored 15 points for the Lakers.

The fans are disappointed to see the lack of effort and the will to improve from the Lakers. The fans were particularly frustrated after some sloppy and careless plays by the Lakers. The Lakers were down by 18 in the first half, trailing 29-47. It was a point where every point was crucial if they were to get out of the deficit by the end of the game. There Carmelo Anthony missed a dunk, which disappointed the Laker nation.

Are the Los Angeles Lakers over-relying on their veterans?

Now, Carmelo Anthony is 37 years old and is not as athletic as he used to which might explain the missed dunk. But, this is one of the things that have hurt the Lakers the most. The Lakers’ starting lineup consisted of LeBron James, Trevor Ariza, and Dwight Howard, all aged 35 years or more. Avery Bradley was the youngest starter at 31 years old and Westbrook at 33. The young group that has performed well for them in Horton Tucker, Malik Monk, Austin Reaves, and Stanley Johnson came off the bench with few opportunities to contribute.

The Los Angeles Lakers are having a season that no one expected from them. They looked like the team to be reckoned with in the off-season. But instead, they are proving to be easy stepping stones for even slightly above decent teams, handing out wins to them. LeBron James is having his best seasons in years in terms of productivity but that has not translated to wins this season. Russell Westbrook has improved his performances over the previous few games and Anthony Davis remains out for now. Fans on Twitter let their feelings out after the sloppy missed dunk by Melo, while some fans were ready to troll them:
