Skip Bayless calls out Russell Westbrook

Russell Westbrook continues to have bad games as the Los Angeles Lakers lose to the Sacramento Kings 116-125 in a road game on Wednesday night. Westbrook could only make two shots in the entire game in 37 minutes of playtime.

The Lakers lost to the Sacramento Kings, a below .500 team in the Western Conference. LeBron James had a good performance as he scored 34 points in the game, but that wasn’t enough for a victory. Malik Monk scored 22 points and Austin Reaves had 19 off the bench. No other Laker player could score in double digits.

The Lakers were in complete control of the game in the first half. The Lakers went into the tunnel at the end of the first half leading 67-61. In the 2nd quarter, the Lakers led by as much as 14 points at a point. The Kings made a comeback and had their first lead in the 3rd quarter, tying the game at 77 apiece. The Lakers then never got a chance to come back into the game. The closest they got was within two points at 116-118 but the Kings prevailed.

That many shots?? – Skip Bayless reminds Russell Westbrook of his response

Skip tweeted – “Russell Westbrick: 2 of 14. 0 of 5 from three. Yet as he says, “I’m allowed to miss shots.” That many shots???“Skip Bayless took a jibe at Russell Westbrook’s statement when he said that he is allowed to miss shots and turn the ball over.

Over the past few games, Russell Westbrook has cut down his number of turnovers. He has had four turnovers in the last four games, which is impressive from Westbrook’s standards. This four-game stretch also included two games with zero turnovers. But on the other side, his production is reduced to single digits. In the last three games, he has had 8, 6, and 9 points respectively.

Westbrook’s efficiency is the biggest cause of worry. In the month of January, Westbrook has played a total of five games. In this stretch, Westbrook is 22-75 from the field in these five games, which is a miserable 29% from the field. He is shooting 0% from the three in this stretch because he has failed to nail a three in his 12 attempts. His free-throw efficiency has been 66%.
