This is how Williams narrated the incident on All The Smoke Podcast- “Somebody knocked on my window, ‘Look up’, bro got the gun on me. I don’t know why but I rolled the window down. He said ‘get out [of] the car’. And I say ‘Huh?’…He looked at me and he said ‘Lou?! I am sorry, I can’t even do this to you, I got too much love for you.'”

Williams later explained how he and his rapper friend Meek Mill were doing good for the community. They had their footprints all over Philadelphia. The robber was aware of this and decided not to harm.

Williams told on the podcast that the robber had just gotten out of jail and was just carrying a gun and enough money for the bus fare, but nothing to eat. Williams then decided to buy him a meal from a nearby McDonald’s. Williams also tried to talk some sense into the man, telling him – “God bless bro, but this ain’t the way.”

Lou Williams sets a good example here that educating and reforming someone, when possible is more important than punishing or reporting.
