Nikola Jokic is one of the best players in the NBA. He won back-to-back MVP awards in the previous two seasons and led the Denver Nuggets to the NBA Finals for the first in franchise history. But he is not alone in his basketball journey. He has two older brothers, Strahinja and Nemanja, who are always by his side, cheering him on and defending him from any threats.

The Jokic brothers are more than just fans of Nikola. They are his family, friends and mentors. The brothers attend NBA games and have even tried to fight the NBA players who messed with their brother. Here are some things you should know about them.

Strahinja Jokic

Strahinja Jokic is the oldest of the three brothers, born in 1982. He played basketball in Europe for most of his life, which was why Nikola fell in love with the game. Nikola grew up watching his brother play across the continent and wanted to follow in his footsteps. However, Nikola did not try to copy Strahinja’s playstyle, which he jokingly compared to Kendrick Perkins.

Strahinja became a loyal supporter and protector of Nikola, attending all of his games. He would also become vocal on the sidelines. Stahinja inherited his father’s passion for watching basketball and sometimes punched chairs or left the arena to calm himself down. He also has a noticeable neck tattoo that draws the attention of fans and media.

However, Strahinja also has a dark side. In 2019, he was arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman in his apartment. He was accused of choking, pushing and threatening her, and preventing her from calling for help. The law enforcement officials charged him with second-degree assault, a felony, and two misdemeanors.

Nemanja Jokic

Nemanja Jokic is the middle brother, born in 1984. He is the shortest of the three, at 6’6″, but was also a basketball player growing up. Nemanja played Division I basketball at the University of Detroit Mercy, averaging 3.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game.

However, Nemanja’s athletic skills are not limited to basketball. He is also a professional MMA fighter with an undefeated record of 3-0. All of his wins are by knockout. He started his career in 2019 and has not fought since then.

The Jokic brothers always have Nikola’s back

Strahinja and Nemanja Jokic have shown their love and loyalty for Nikola on many occasions. They have defended him from critics and opponents, sometimes getting into heated exchanges or confrontations. For example, in 2021, they almost rushed the court when

Nikola Jokic was ejected for a flagrant foul on Cameron Payne, and Devin Booker confronted him. Security guards held them back. The Jokic brothers have also remained supportive of Nikola’s personal life. They attended his wedding in Serbia in 2020, dancing and celebrating with him.

Nikola Jokic’s brothers, Strahinja and Nemanja’s basketball career

The Jokic brothers all played basketball growing up, but Nikola was the one who made it to the NBA. Strahinja, the eldest at 6’8″, had a long career in Europe and inspired Nikola to pursue his dream. He is now his brother’s most vocal advocate and protector, often getting into heated arguments with referees or opponents.

Nemanja, the middle and shortest at 6’6″, played college ball at Detroit Mercy before becoming an MMA fighter. Nikola says his brothers taught him to be fearless and resilient on the court.
