Why did Nets’ Kevin Durant apologize to F.R.I.E.N.D.S actor Michael Rapaport
Michael Rapaport and Kevin Durant
Nets’ Kevin Durant has always been vocal about the social injustices and issues, many marquee players have kept quiet about. But during the business end of the 2020-21 season, the former MVP decided to lodge an attack on actor Michael Rapaport who called him out for homophobic and misogynistic slurs. Along with messages of invoking Rapaport’s wife as well in their private messages.
After the comedian/actor decided to share their messages on his official Twitter handle, Kevin Durant’s way-ward attitude shocked many of those who admired his cool, calm and collectiveness off the court. In a day’s time to when the screenshots were shared, Kevin replied by stating, “Me and mike talk CRAZIER than this on the regular and today he’s pissed…. My bad mike, damn!!”

Kevin Durant and Michael Rapaport feud explained
It was strange to see Michael Rapaport and Kevin Durant having such a cold relationship, especially when fans saw him in one of the former’s videos and their relation seemed pretty chilled, even in public.
Rapaport wrote on his Tweet accompanying the screenshots, “I receive threats and disgusting messages DAILY, but never in my wildest dreams did I think Kevin Durant would be among them. The (snake emoji) himself is now threatening me, bringing up my wife and wants to fight. This is supposed to be America’s sweetheart right? #ImDaRealMVP.”
After many speculated those strict actions would be taken on Durant for his obscene and insensitive language, by the NBA, he came out to publicly apologise for his comments and messages sent to Rapaport, “I’m sorry that people have seen the language I used. That’s not what I want people to see or hear from me.”
That being said, Kevin Durant’s social media activities including Twitter have majorly massively improved. But this instance, seemed to be the rare moment where KD’s unknown side came out to the world. But for now, it seems like the marquee Brooklyn Nets is out for at least a month due to elbow injury. Will the Nets be able to bring back their winning spark without their main player? Remains to be seen.
