The Christmas game means a lot to National Basketball Association, it’s employees and even fans as it brings the community together. The players who get a chance to play on the eve of Christmas feel the opportunity as blessing since stepping on the court at that special day while enjoying and spending time with the team, family and fans is a special moment for many.

This year the National Basketball Association has scheduled a match up of Brooklyn Nets facing Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center (Crypto.com Arena). But the league currently being under a COVID-19 outbreak has multiple stars from both the teams side-lined with COVID-19 health and safety protocols. The Los Angeles Lakers have a important piece of their roster Anthony Davis side-lined due to a MCL sprain and he won’t be taking the challenge up against the Brooklyn Nets. Having players like Kendrick Nunn and Avery Bradley with many other key rotational players side-lined due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols the Los Angeles Lakers still have a good number of players available for the game.

On the other hand the Brooklyn Nets currently have 10 players side-lined due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols. The list includes names of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Cam Thomas and Lamarcus Aldridge with many others. Keeping in view the situation Brooklyn Nets are stuck in this particular road trip which includes the Christmas game will be full of hardships as the Brooklyn Nets have a tough schedule down the lane. The head coach of Brooklyn Nets, Steve Nash earlier revealed that Kyrie Irving will not be a part of the road trip and there is currently no update regarding Kevin Durant or any other player in the protocols except for James Harden.

James Harden has cleared COVID-19 health and safety protocols and is ready to jump-in in the bus as the road trip for Brooklyn Nets begin where they will also be facing the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas. Having Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and other stars of the team side-lined due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols the responsibility on the shoulders of James Harden increase a lot as “The Beard” himself has been very inconsistent offensively as well as defensively this season.

James Harden has never really been back to his MVP calibre form since the start of the season with some rule changes which blocked the free throw chain for Brooklyn Nets’ star. This season James Harden is averaging 20.8 PPG, 7.9 RPG and 9.8 APG. The average stat line is so good everyone will love to have it but James Harden being James Harden is expected to do more and have a major influence on the court especially when he is alone and leading the charge against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas.
