“You in trouble now”Shannon Sharpe hypes Lakers 3-game winning streak after marquee players take charge against Kings

Shannon Sharpe and LeBron James

Russell Westbrook had an horrible night during the Los Angeles Lakers vs Minnesota Timberwolves game after turning the ball over seven times in the first quarter alone and being benched for doing so. He finished the game with 20 points with 7-16 shooting as well as 3 rebounds and 5 assists.

Following his shocking delivery, fans and analyst around the league criticized the player for not being a team player and being delusion over his poor performances. NBA Analyst of Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe lashed out on the Lakers point guard calling him out of his incapability of fitting.

After the Timberwolves game, LeBron James had openly admitted to turnovers being a major reason why they lose their games. And it seems like the team had recognized their leader’s words after winning their next with the Sacramento Kings with lesser turnovers.

During the Lakers win over the Kings, Russell Westbrook had a moment of his own after recording zero turnovers in the game. This was his first game with a feature as such ever since March 14, 2016, snapping a 407 game streak. This further allowed the team to complete full possessions to keep it close with the Kings as Shannon Sharpe had later highlighted.

Sharpe praised the team for correcting their mistakes from the previous game but he also had certains things to say in terms of the expectations the team had set. “It was nice but let’s be real , it’s Sacramento. And they should have had to come back against Sacramento. But I got to finally give them credit for winning games like this because we’ve seen them so many times lose ball games like this.” said Sharpe. During both team last game together, the Lakers had lost to the Kings in triple overtime after tying the game multiple times and turning over the ball at the end to eventually lose.

Sharpe had further explained that the team had only won such a close game but keeping it tight between themselves and not turning over the ball as much. As Sharpe would say since they had lesser turnovers it helped them gain more shots and limit the amount of the possessions their opponent would have otherwise had.

According to Sharpe, if the team had sketched out a different plan earlier on or in his word, played Malik Monk with LeBron James the conversion of the ball would have been on a higher rate than what it is at the moment. “I like what I saw last night, but if they had beat… let’s just say for the sake of argument, beat the Suns, beat the Warriors, beat Utah, Brooklyn, beat Milwaukee, Philly, Chicago… you (NBA) in trouble now.”

To the Analyst, a win against the Sacramento Kings was much needed and good as it shows signs of fight and routine. But if the Lakers had played the same way and beaten teams that are top contenders, then the league would have to worry about them. Sharpe had brought up the fact that the Kings have no all-stars on their roster whereas the Lakers have two, both former league MVPs. Sharpe believes that a roster as well reputed as the Lakers should have never been in a situation like they had during the fourth quarter of the game.
