New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft took some time off as his team continues to prepare for another run at the Super Bowl. On Monday, Kraft attended game three of the NBA Championship between the New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs at Madison Square Garden.
Kraft chose a simple attire for the occasion. He sat next to comedian and satirist Larry David and Warner Brothers CEO David Zaslav. Jay Z greeted him at courtside.
However, NFL analyst Zach Jacobson took a sharp dig at Kraft for attending the NBA finals. Jacobson tweeted:
They’re turning Madison Square Garden into the s*x pest convention ***.

Back in 2019, Kraft made the news for all the wrong reasons. He was charged with two counts of soliciting prostitution during a human sting operation on human s*x trafficking in Florida. Initially, he denied the allegations, but later issued a statement that created a buzz. Robert Kraft stated via Yahoo Sports:
Throughout my life, I have always tried to do the right thing. The last thing I ever want to do is disrespect another human being. I have extraordinary respect for women; my morals and my soul[s] were shaped by the most wonderful woman, the love of my life, who I was blessed to have as my partner for 50 years.
It doesn’t help Kraft’s case that he was in the same building as President Donald Trump, whose name has popped up in the infamous Epstein Files several times. Trump has denied all allegations.
Why can’t Robert Kraft fire Mike Vrabel despite the recent controversy?
Mike Vrabel found himself surrounded by controversy after his intimate photos with NFL insider Dianna Russini surfaced in April. Russini re-signed from her job, and Vrabel avoided the media until a couple of days before the draft in Pittsburgh. Vrabel acknowledged his mistakes and sought out counseling that forced him to miss the final day of the draft.

Vrabel remains the Patriots’ head coach, and it’s unlikely that Kraft will fire him anytime soon. There’s a good reason behind it. Vrabel led the Patriots to a Super Bowl appearance last year, after years of languishing in the depths of the AFC. The Patriots lost in the final to the Seattle Seahawks.
It doesn’t make much sense for Kraft to fire Vrabel right after a near-perfect season. Sure, his off-the-field issues are a distraction, but the situation is slowly dying down. Aside from Tony Farmer’s relentless efforts to keep it alive, the mainstream media doesn’t seem keen on finding closure.
Vrabel reacts to Robert Kraft’s Hall of Fame snub
A place in the Pro Football Hall of Fame means eternal glory for a football player and coaches. Several club owners have also had the privilege of seeing their busts in Canton, Ohio. In 2019, Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen and, a couple of years earlier, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones were inducted into the HOF.
Kraft became eligible for induction in 2026. However, he was snubbed. When reporters asked Vrabel’s reaction, he viewed it as an unfortunate moment. Vrabel said via Reuters:
I would just say that that’s unfortunate. I would say that in my experiences with Robert, he’s more than deserving. And he’ll be in the Hall of Fame. I’m just not in charge of deciding when that happens.
The Patriots have won six Super Bowls during Kraft’s tenure as the owner of the franchise. He still has the ambition to win a seventh ring, equalling Tom Brady‘s record.
