“I don’t have that much hate in my heart,” Bobby Wagner reveals primary reason of him joining the Los Angeles Rams after Seahawks ousting
The Seattle Seahawks made a couple of bold moves during the offseason as they decided to let go of two of their most experienced players in the form of Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner. While Wilson’s trade was more to do with financial reasons, the cause for Wagner’s departure was a bit off the mark.
The Seahawks made no effort to let Wagner know of their plans to release him, and it was a messy one. However, Bobby Wagner has now signed a five year deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
Bobby Wagner wanted to stay closer to his home and hence chose the LA Rams
This would mean that Wagner will have a chance to face off against his former team atleast twice in the regular season given that both the teams are from the same division. Many NFL followers had thought that this was one of the primary reasons why the linebacker signed for the defending Super Bowl champions.
Speaking at his first press conference as a Los Angeles Rams player, Bobby Wagner clarified that he does not carry that much hate for the Seahawks. He said that his primary reason to choose a team from the same division was because he wanted to stay closer to his home on the West Coast.
“A lot of people think that it went into my decision, being able to play the Seahawks,” Wagner said Monday in an interview with the LA Rams.
“I don’t have that much hate in my heart. I think I really wanted to be happy and I wanted to be close to home and stay on the West Coast. That was important to me. But playing the Seahawks twice a year was a cherry on top, and I’ll make sure they see me every time we play them. They’ll know where I’m at and I’ll make sure I tell them. It won’t be a quiet game for me.”
