The debate about whether Brock Purdy is a top NFL quarterback is back in the news. And all the credit goes to the NFL executives, coaches, and scouts.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler continued his annual tradition, unveiling the Top 10 NFL quarterback list heading into the new season. Purdy, the starting signal-caller for the San Francisco 49ers, isn’t part of it.

Here’s the list:

  1. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills
  2. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs
  3. Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams
  4. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals
  5. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens
  6. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys
  7. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers
  8. Drake Maye, New England Patriots
  9. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
  10. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears

Purdy’s name can be found in the honorable mentions section. An NFC executive said: “He’s got two superpowers. Layering the ball and short-area quickness to stay alive. He’s elite in those two areas.”

Since his debut in 2022, Purdy has failed to crack the list on every single occasion.

49ers fans showed their anger over Brock Purdy being left off the Top 10 quarterback list

Purdy missed a chunk of last season due to suffering shoulder and toe injuries. He played nine games and went 7-2. He completed 197 passes (69.4%) for 2167 yards, threw 20 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for three TDs.

The 49ers finished third in their division behind the Seattle Seahawks and the Rams. In the wildcard round, they defeated the defending champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. Purdy threw 2 touchdowns, two interceptions, and 262 yards. The Niners’ adventure ended in the divisional playoff game against the Seahawks. Purdy had 140 yards, one interception, and was sacked twice.

Regardless of how the season ended, the Niners fans believe that Purdy deserves a spot alongside the league’s elites.

Former NFL linebacker claimed the 49ers have the best offense in the NFC West

Besides Purdy, the 49ers missed key players through injury last season. It had a direct effect on their performance. Former NFL linebacker Manti Teʻo on Good Morning America claimed that the Niners have the best offense in the NFC West.

This (49ers) offense, it’s the most dangerous in that division, in my opinion.

Manti Teʻo said

The Niners have drawn the fourteenth-easiest schedule in 2026. The combined win percentage of their opponents is 143-145-1.
