The Seattle Seahawks are going through a phase of rebuilding their franchise roster ahead of the 2022 NFL season. They made two massive trade moves in the form of Russell Wilson and Bobby Wagner leaving them for the Denver Broncos and Los Angeles Rams respectively.

Another player who might follow their lead during this offseason is DK Metcalf, their primary wide receiver. The 24-year old will be out of contract and is on the lookout for a better one if he is to extend his stay at the franchise.

There has been another interesting development regarding the future of DK Metcalf as the New York Jets are reportedly looking to bring him into their squad. According to Howard Eskin of 94WIP, the New York Jets were willing to offer the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft to the Seahawks for Metcalf, but Seattle turned it down.

The Jets were going to offer, and Seattle knew it, the No. 10 pick in the fist round. I’ve been told by multiple people when somebody calls Seattle about D.K. Metcalf (they said) ‘We’re not trading him. We’re not trading him.’ They don’t even take the offer,” Eskin said, h/t 94WIP. “They just say ‘Nope’ and they just shut it right down. You can’t even make an offer right now.”

However, this approach from the Seattle Seahawks might not be fruitful, given that they had a similar approach before the trade of Wilson. The Jets are in the market for a top quality wide receiver this season, with them being very light in that position.

As of now, nothing regarding DK Metcalf can be ruled out at this time as this offseason has already sprung up plenty of surprises so far in its short time.
