“He Should have an opportunity,” NFL analyst identifies Matt Corral’s replacement at Ole Miss Rebels in 2022

Ole Miss Rebels’ quarterback Matt Corral is all set to make the giant leap this year, as he all but confirmed his participation in the NFL draft this year. He had previously stated that the final home game of the season would be his last, and it did not end well, as it saw him leave the field due to a terrible injury.

With talks of him leaving being finalised, it has made up for a new headache for the Ole Miss Rebels, the one where they have to look for a replacement quarterback. In a discussion on a popular podcast hosted by CBS Sports, Chip Patterson identified one of their own players to serve as the perfect man for the job.

Patterson backed Luke Altmyer to take charge of the Ole Miss Rebels from next season onwards and predicted that he would thrive under the tutelage of Lane Kiffin.

The sophomore 19-year old, quarterback made an appearance for them during the Sugar Bowl final after Corral left the field due to injury.

Chip Patterson said, “Altmyer came in to replace Matt Corral in the Sugar Bowl, the results were not fantastic. One 1TD, 2 INT, only about 170 yards. For someone who comes in with a good reputation, he was identified as one of the Top 15 quarterbacks in his class. He should have an opportunity under Lane Kiffin to be able to prove himself as the quarterback for the Rebels in 2022.”

He continued, “Although Altmyer has that born and bred up in Mississippi aspect to him, Lane can also plugin superstar in this Rebels outfit.”

Luke Altmyer is the leader in the clubhouse as they say, but I think we might see this race to continue with a new mystery guest by the time we get the fall camp.”
