“He’s been the MVP in two consecutive years” Greg Jennings bashes reports for claiming the Packers don’t have faith in Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers and Greg Jennings

Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers once again failed to reach the Super Bowl. While in previous seasons they managed to get to the NFC championship, including 2 straight appearances in 2019 and 2020, this year, they lost their first playoff game after getting the #1 seed and there was a lot riding on it.

Prior to the 2021 season, Aaron Rodgers wanted out of Green Bay and was looking for a way to make it happen. Eventually, the two sides settled and Rodgers stayed on one condition. He and the Packers would give one last shot at winning the Super Bowl. If they won then there would be no reason to leave but if they didn’t he’d want out again.

Well, we’re now in the second option of that situation. Or at least we think we’ll be. As of now, Aaron Rodgers hasn’t said what his plans are but that he would before free agency commences. Recently a report about the Packers doubting Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs surfaced and Rodgers’ former teammate Greg Jennings was quick to give his piece of mind.

Appearing on a segment of ‘First Things First’, Greg Jennings was quoted saying “No. This is not a legitimate concern. And I know people like Broussard are gonna say well he hasn’t gotten it done in the postseason. And albeit, that is true. But, let’s not forget, how do we get to January? We have to perform in the months prior. And the guy(Aaron Rodgers) has been the MVP in consecutive years.”

Jennings further added “If he can’t get it done when it really matters, what quarterbacks are you gonna put on that list that you would swap for Aaron Rodgers right now? None. So, this is your best option. And for something like this to come out to further add possible tension if he were to come back. You can’t have things like this when he is your best available option.”

We still have to wait and see what Aaron Rodgers will decide to do this offseason but, the Packers organization has made it very clear that they want him to remain in Green Bay and see out his career with them. What also makes the report seem untrue is that even if the Packers felt that way, saying that only hurts Rodgers’ trade value, meaning they would get less in return for him.

The report seems to be completely false as Greg Jennings says and makes no sense from the Packers. They very clearly want Aaron Rodgers. Only time will tell if he wants them, however.
