Tom Brady is considered to be the greatest quarterback of all time in the history of the NFL. Brady shocked the entire NFL world by announcing his retirement earlier this month. Given Brady’s age and the long list of accomplishments, it felt right to the superstar to hang up his cleats and let the younger generation take over.

However, he has been dropping hints about his return ever since announcing his retirement. Brady said “Never say never” and sparked a whole lot of speculations of him coming back. Even his long-time teammate and friend, Rob Gronkowski suggest the 44-year old will most definitely come back in a year or two.

NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk is one hundred percent confident Tom Brady is coming back in 2022. He thinks Brady will start as the QB for the San Francisco 49ers. “I got a great email,” Florio said. “I don’t know that the person wants his name to be shared, but it’s explaining what’s going on with Tom Brady. Classic mid-life crisis. Step 1, a divorce from the Patriots. Step 2, a short-term relationship with a trophy girl, the Buccaneers. Step 3, a late-night text to the high school sweetheart, a.k.a the 49ers.

“I’m telling you, it’s unavoidable. He’s not gonna lower himself to have to dirty himself the way Aaron Rodgers is. He’s gonna work it all behind the scenes. I just … I think he’s gonna be with the 49ers Week 1. I’m rooting for that so badly.”

Tom Brady will get to live out his childhood dream

Brady has been an admirer of Joe Montana and the 49ers since his childhood. Growing up in the Bay area, the 7x Super Bowl Champion had hoped to QB for San Francisco one day. After his ending his 19-year long relationship with the New England Patriots, Brady expressed his desire to be a part of the 49ers. However, San Franciso wasn’t keen on having what they believed to be a 43-year old washed-up QB aboard and went on ahead with Jimmy Garoppolo.

As Brady has done many a time in his career, he proved everyone wrong and showed why he’s known as the greatest by winning his 7th Super Bowl with the Buccaneers. Now that the 49ers and Jimmy G are parting ways, many experts are confident Tom Brady will complete his childhood dream and start for the 49ers.

The Niners have their future secured in Trey Lance whom they selected 3rd overall. But the 21-year old spent most of his rookie season watching Jimmy Garoppolo from the sidelines. San Francisco might be willing to let Lance sit on the sidelines if Brady is still an option. While it’s all conjecture up to this point, we will know for sure if Brady comes back as a 49er in the Free agency market or at the start of the 2022 season.
